The Sprit of the Woods.
Though the wood was claimed hunted, the children still played.  ‘I shall stand and protect you!’ The young boy said, as he and the girl entered the wood. ‘There should be treasures a plenty in this old wood.’ Said the girl with glee. As she passed through the entrance, an old rotten tree.  As in to the wood these children did walk they did not stutter, nay they did not talk. The wood it grew dark and the ground grew cold, but the children stayed walking, they both were quite bold. They entered a clearing where what did they spy? ‘Twas a ray of light that trees had cried. They stood in the light and hoped to get warm when a small shot of light had broke from the arm. ‘What is it?’ the girl said, It filled the boy full of dread. ‘ ’Tis the sprit of this wood angered at us for our tread.’  ‘Harm us not!’ cried the girl as she fell to her knees and she echoed and mumbled ‘please, please’. ‘ I shan’t harm you.’ Said the light ‘ For I am just and only do right. I have come here to be one with the light’. The sprit flew to her and to much supprise, her crying had stopped and it dried her eyes. ‘ O sprit of light what art though. You are not evil, so you are no fiend. An angel may haps you be?’ the boy had said half heartedly  ‘Neither good nor evil, fiend nor friend, I am a sprit of some one left here unknown.’ Was the sprits reply, as the children sat on a stone. ‘Tell us your tale.’ Said the boy, no longer pale.  ‘My story is sad in more ways then one, where should I start? How of the stone you sit on?’ The children had jumped fearing the worse. ‘ ‘Tis mearly a stone not my curse. My love and I sat right there.  We had no worries, not a single care. Till one day, she did not appear.’ The sprit sighed. ‘ She did not come? Why?’ the girl cried. ‘ Alas she had moved to a land so far, I cried and wished on every star, that I hoped my self could go so far. Soon I found my feet did not touch the ground and I was floating around. I looked for the village and found no friends, they labeled me spook and chased me here again. I hid in the light and to me respight, they could not find me, Try as they might.’ The sprit had stopped and seemed to look at them. ‘ That is where me sad tail ends.’  ‘Why not find her and make amends?’ said the boy at last. ‘ It seems you can fly and get anywhere fast.’  ‘Yes.’ said the girl ‘ Your wish seems to be granted, so don’t take fate for granted. Go find your love and be by her side.’  No sound had past as the trees crying dimmed. Soon the sprit looked like a star that stood before the children. ‘Your right.’ It said at last ‘ But to your home you must go fast, use me as your light and I can lead you home tonight.’ The children stood and followed the light, till the wood was out of sight. The sprit thanked them saying ‘When I have found her we shall meet again, I want to show her who freed me from my pain.’ The children went home at last and spoke to their parents of past. Though not believing they were sent to bed. Years had past and still there was no belief in the children’s past. Till one day a coach pulled to the house and let out a handsome man and his spouse. ‘ My friends I have returned and with the one of whom you’ve heard.’ They spoke of that night and ate till ‘twas night.

Morel of the story is: Wishes can come true, but the lost and lonely will never see, till the light is wiped from their eyes.

My mom asked me to make a nice thing with no killing and wasn't depressing.
