“Hello Bulma.” Vegeta stepped out of the shade of the rocks and smirked.

“What the…Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!” Bulma shrieked and jumped to her feet, visibly shaking with fear. “H…h…hi Vegeta…” she stuttered as she stood there trembling; paralysed with fear. Vegeta grinned and sauntered towards her, looking her up and down and making sure she noticed his attention. It was actually quite good to have her fearful of him once more, heaven knows that Bulma from his time line wasn’t afraid of him any more.

“So Bulma, hows your little quest for the dragon balls going? Hmm?” He stopped in front of her and reached out a gloved hand to cup her cheek and jerk her head up to face him. He made sure that his ebony eyes were boring into hers again when he spoke. “Say, what’s wrong? You look scared.” Vegeta chuckled sadistically and stepped back, letting his hand trail down her cheek before dropping away.

“Look, pleased don’t kill me! I’m too young to die, I still haven’t done half the things I wanted to do, and besides what would killing me accomplish? I don’t have any dragon balls and if I did I’d give them to you straight away.” She looked him in the eye and then looked away again, obviously more then just a little scared to be along in the company of a sadistic, murderous fiend.

Vegeta contemplated threatening her some more but decided to give it a miss. He could save the blackmail for later. “Don’t you wonder how I know your name, Bulma?” Vegeta stepped back and smirked at her again, making sure that he spoke her name loudly and clearly. Bulma’s head snapped up and she looked at him with obvious dislike.

“I…” Bulma’s mouth snapped shut as she clamped down on what she had been about to say. She narrowed her eyes at him and then gasped in alarm. “You found Krillen and Gohan and you hurt them and made them tell you where I was…” She began to cry softly, the display of weakness almost turning Vegeta’s stomach. “It wasn’t enough that you killed Yamcha, now you want to kill my other friends too…”

Yamcha! Vegeta gritted his teeth, remembering back all those years ago when he had first kissed Bulma how she had carried on about not being able to be with him because she was still in love with Yamcha, of course she’d soon stopped babbling about being loyal to Yamcha once they’d slept together. Vegeta unconsciously chuckled and fastened his gaze onto his blue haired prize. “I’m not going to kill you woman, I have a much better use for you. You see I’m going to be going on a rather long journey and some female company would be welcome.” He watched her eyes grow large as saucers and her jaw drop. It was a struggle for him not to laugh at her dumfounded expression.

“NO WAY! I LOVE YAMCHA AND I’D NEVER WILLINGLY SLEEP WITH AN ANIMAL LIKE YOU!” Bulma screamed at him angrily, panting after her outburst.

“Are you quite finished?” Vegeta stepped towards her and smirked. “Good, now listen up woman and listen up good. I’m not giving you a choice about this, you either come with me or you can stay here and die…and I’ll make your death last a very, very long time…” He ran his eyes down her body as he spoke then looked back up at her again. “I can think of one very, very good way to torture you to death.”

“I said NO!” Bulma screeched, when she opened her mouth to yell something else, Vegeta fazed behind her and knocked her out.  With a small sigh she fell down unconscious into his arms.

“Like I said, I’m not giving you a choice little one.” He picked her up and carried her back to the time machine, his brain already burning with ways to make her hurt for not obeying him straight away. Soon enough she would learn that he was her prince and she would come to adore him. He would settle for no less then  her love, or at least very strong lust, but either way Bulma would be his once more!

Bulma dreamt that she was back home on Earth, safe and warm in her own bed with Yamcha next to her stroking her hair…with a small shriek Bulma woke up with a start and sat up, knocking Vegeta against the inner wall of the time machine. He grunted and turned to stare at her, his black eyes zooming in on her flushed cheeks as she realised who she was trapped with.

“Watch it, woman. In case you haven’t yet noticed, there isn’t much room in this thing.” Vegeta smirked at her abruptly. “But if you wanted to get all up close and personal all you had to do as ask!” He leant towards her and before Bulma could protest he snaked an arm around her and kissed her, holding her close despite her wriggles.

He kisses very nicely! Bulma silenced the insane part of her brain that had thought that thought and pulled back as soon as he removed his arm and lifted his mouth from hers. “Look Vegeta, you’d better take me back because if you don’t Goku will come after you and…”

“Oh Bulma, I’m afraid he wont.” Vegeta easily silenced her whining. “You see by the time anyone really notices your gone planet Namek will be in upheaval and everyone will assume your dead and even if they suspected you were still alive they’d soon change their minds.” The saiyans mouth widened into a sadistic smile and Bulma watched in fascination as he actually chuckled. “Its not like Namek lasts a whole lot longer.”

“What do mean by that?” Bulma decided to get angry; if she was angry then she wouldn’t be afraid of the situation she was in.

Vegeta smirked down at her. “Planet Namek is going to explode eventually, but if it makes you feel any better everyone except Frieza gets off alive.” Vegeta paused and looked thoughtful. “Well that’s not exactly true, but anyway the point is it’s just you and me and a whole lot of nothing.” Vegeta motioned towards the front window and Bulma stared in shock as she finally realised where they were.

Outside the vehicle they were travelling in was a vortex of spiralling black and purple mists. Occasionally lightning, or something like lightning, would strike  but would immediately be sucked into the wall of the vortex.

“Wow.” Bulma breathed. She was, for one of the first times in her life, speechless. it was beautiful but at the same time was so ugly and unnatural that she wanted to hide away form it. “What is it?” he leant forward in her seat, naturally curious about the phenomenon.

“It’s nothing and it’s everything.” Vegeta grinned, turning his head away so she wouldn’t see his expression; it was fun tormenting Bulma again, for so long his own Bulma had either ignored him or been associating herself with those damned androids!

“What?” Bulma almost shrieked in annoyance. “That makes no sense!” She glared at him hard enough to make him squirm just a little.

“It’s the river of time Bulma.” Vegeta divulged.

“What? River of time? You mean…” Bulma’s mouth fell open in shock. “You mean we’re time travelling?” Her mouth dropped open even further. “Wow! You saiyans really are impressive.”

“Oh, we didn’t build this, you did.” Vegeta smiled at the woman’s innocence. He didn’t doubt that his race could have built a machine like this one – they just had no use for it. His race was a race of warriors, not scientists.

I did?” Bulma spluttered in shock.

“In the future you built this so our son could go back in time and save Kakarot form a heart virus.” Vegeta pressed a button and with a ‘pop’ the river of time slowed to a standstill and they reappeared into another dimension.

“I built it? Our son? Kakarot?” Bulma crossed her arms across her chest and glared even harder at the saiyan prince. “What are you talking about? I think you’re lying to me!”

“Look, I’ll explain it but it’s complicated.” Vegeta let out a long suffering sign and proceeded to give Bulma the short and sweet version of who he was. “I’m not the Vegeta that you know - well I am but I’m from the future…”

“You mean we don’t kill…I mean send you to another dimension? Well that bites!” Bulma pouted and looked away.

Vegeta growled and continued to talk, deciding that he could be benevolent and ignore the woman’s insolence again. “In the future I end up living with you at Capsule Corporation, this is after I get wished back by the Dragon on Namek…”

“Why would we wish you back?” Bulma interrupted again, her face paling as Vegeta shot her a nasty look.

“Because I got killed fighting Frieza, trying to protect your precious friends. Now if you stop interrupting me I’ll explain everything so simply that even a dimwit like you could understand it.” Vegeta growled. Bulma nodded slowly and gestured for him to continue speaking. “Now on Namek, I teamed up with Gohan, Piccolo and Krillen, later Kakarot comes but he arrives in time to see me die. Eventually, the dragon balls on earth are collected and the wish is made to restore everyone to life that Frieza killed, this happens and the Namek dragon is brought back, Kakarot makes the wish to send everyone back to Earth but him and I get included in that wish.” Vegeta looked at Bulma who was still staring wide eyed at him. “Are you following me woman?”

“Yep.” Bulma nodded and Vegeta continued his tale.

“When we got to Earth I had nowhere to stay so you offered to let me stay at Capsule Corp. Soon after that I left to try to find Kakarot in space, I didn’t so I came back to Earth and eventually we had an affair and you broke up with that weakling Yamcha. You also got pregnant so we were forced to pretty much stay with each other. Now skip ahead a few years, Kakarot is dead due to a heart virus and all the Z warriors except for Gohan, our son Trunks and I have been killed by two androids, eventually I manage to kill the female android with the help of Gohan and the male android decides to take revenge by seducing you away form me - which he does. You end up turning evil and you end up hating me, you rebuild the female android and she takes up with Gohan leaving me shit out of allies.” Vegeta snarled suddenly. “You gave me the choice of staying in their time and being killed by the androids or going back in time to save my home planet, I went back but had to use another power source to get the time machine to run and somehow the stupid machine ending up dimension jumping and so I ended up here. Do you understand?”

“Umm…” Bulma bit her lower lip. “Not really.”

Vegeta slapped a hand to his forehead. “Baka onna.” He mumbled under his breath.

“Uh, Vegeta? I don’t want to sound like a typical scared girl but did you just hear that noise?” Bulma was peering out of the window.

Vegeta tried to look out the window too, but they had landed in a storm and seeing more then a metre away was impossible. “It was probably just the storm…” Vegeta froze mid-sentence as something caught his eye in the rain outside. It was moving towards them fast…

“Oh-no…” Vegeta’s jaw dropped as he caught site of the being that stepped out of the mist and rain and grinned at them from outside the time machine.
