Time passes. With Piccolo in hiding, there are 5 years of peace. Somewhere, a farmer panics when he sees something that could be a meteor or a UFO. He wants to check it out. It's not a meteor. Someone leaps out of the UFO, commenting on the fact that Kakarot must live on this planet. The farmer asks the alien what he is, and the alien dismisses the farmer (who has a power rating of 5,) as garbage. The farmer panics and shoots. The farmer dies. Then, the alien senses a great power 4880 units away (specific distance measure isn't given,) and thinks that it may be Kakarot. Then, Piccolo senses a great power approaching, and thinks it's Gokuu. Both of them are angry at being wrong. Piccolo wants to know who's distrubed his peace, and the alien dismisses the demon king at having only a sentou-ryoku of 322. Piccolo gets angrier, but is concerned by the alien's greater power. Piccolo's attack has no effect, and the alien asks if he gets to go next. But, the alien stops, having noticed another power blip, and he leaves to travel the 12909 units to get to what he thinks is Kakarot. Piccolo can't stand having been so humiliated, and the alien goes to find the great Saiya-jin fighter, Kakarot (who looks like the baby Gokuu.) At Kame House, Buruma drops in, not having seen people for 5 years. She gives Kamesennin a long-time-no-see present, which the old man hopes will include getting a glimpse of her breasts. When she hits him, he claims it was just a joke. Kuririn asks where Yamcha is, and it seems that Buruma and Yamcha had another fight again. She asks where Ranchi is, and Kuririn answers that Kushami/Ranchi had left 5 years ago to move in with Tenshinhan. Gokuu appears, saying that they're nearing Kame House. The alien notices that the power that had been moving so fast, had stopped. Kuririn recognizes Gokuu's voice. The alien is getting closer. People rush out to greet Gokuu, but are stunned at learning that the little boy is Gokuu's son. The kid is introduced as Son Gohan (named after Gokuu's dead grandfather,) age 4. And he has a tail, meaning that if he sees the full moon... But Gokuu doesn't know what the others are acting so edgy for. Kuririn asks if the kid is as strong as his father, but Gokuu is annoyed that Chi Chi would rather that they study, instead of fighting. Kuririn can't believe this, and Gokuu grouses about the long peace. Then, Bururma notices the Dragon Ball sewn on Gohan's hat -- Gokuu's found Balls 1 through 6, and Gohan wears the Ball that matches his age. But, Gokuu suddenly notices a strong power approaching. The alien lands, and talks about common fathers, travelling to this planet, and some guy named Kakarot. No one else understands this, and Kuririn tells him to just continue on his way. Gokuu shouts out a warning, but the little guy gets too close. Then, they see that the alien has a tail. The next page has Gohan introducing himself. Gokuu wonders whether the guy's tail means what he thinks it does, and the alien asks if Kakarot has been bumped hard on the head lately. Gokuu says his name's not Kakarot, it's Son Gokuu. The alien continues on about bumps, and Kamesennin comments that the older, dead Son Gohan had found Gokuu, and taken him in as a baby. They still don't understand, until the alien tells them that Gokuu was born on the planet Vejiita, (I think that's right,) and that Gokuu is really a member of the fighter race known as Saiya-jin. And, the alien is Gokuu's older brother, Radits. None of them can believe this, and Gokuu rejects it outright. Radits tries to give further proof of this (ie -- greater strength, a certain change-over on the full moon...) Gokuu doesn't know anything about were-monkeys, and that's when Radits notices that Kakarot doesn't have a tail. Radits curses the humans that did this atrocity to his little brother, but Gokuu replies that it was a good thing, and that he isn't anyone's little brother. He is Son Gokuu, he grew up on this planet, and Radits can just leave. The others agree. Radits laughs -- the Saiya-jin are fighters (as are his and Gokuu's parents,) and they live to terrorize others. It's in their blood. Gokuu denies that he's a Saiya-jin, but, Gohan's tail is proof that they have common blood. Radits decides to kidnap Gohan, and drops Gokuu when dad gets in the way. Radits wants to either fight Gokuu, or return with him to their planet. Either way, he's got one day to decide. Kuririn and Kamesennin are stunned that Gokuu was dropped with one blow. After the time is up, Radits wants to see the corpses of 100 people, or he'll kill Gohan. They argue about this for a while, and then Radits tells them that he has two friends, and he's decided that their next target for death and mass destruction is this planet. But, if Gokuu brings the 100 corpses... Gokuu asks for Gohan back. Radits likes Gokuu's show of spirit, and flies off. While the others are trying to be helpful, Gokuu calls for Kintoen. But, there's nothing Gokuu can do. Kuririn and Kamesama ofer to help, and to get Yamcha and Tenshinhan. Kuririn asks Buruma to use the Dragon Balls to bring him back to life if he dies. However, Gokuu tells them that Shenlon can't grant the same wish twice, so Kuririn can't die any more. But, if they got the remaining Dragon Ball, they could wish the problem away -- but they can't get it within one day. But, with the aid of the Dragon Radar, they can track Radits. [Note: Although Gokuu has supposedly collected 6 of the Balls, the Radar proves otherwise.] Gokuu is about to leave, when a voice tells him to wait. Buruma crawls away in horror, and Gokuu demands to know why the demon king is here. He'd already met Radits. This is Piccolo's planet to terrorize, and he doesn't want anyone else spoiling it. And, since Piccolo can't handle Raditz on his own, he needs Gokuu's help. They agree to a truce, Gokuu gets the Radar from Buruma, and Gokuu asks if Piccolo can keep up with Kintoen. Kamesennin can't believe that those two can handle this alone, so he tells Buruma to get another Radar. The two veer a little more to the right. Gohan won't stop crying, which annoys Radits to the point where he puts the "shit brat" inside the space capsule. Then, the power sensor alerts him to a 710 power level, which seems to come from the brat. He thinks that the sensor is malfunctioning. Gokuu wants to land and sneek in, but Piccolo tells him that won't work. Radits still gets the 710 reading, then notices a 322 and a 334 approaching (Piccolo is the 322.) He just can't understand how anyone could find him that quickly. Then, he realizes that Gohan really is up to a power level of 710. Radits greets Piccolo and Gokuu, asking how they found him. Gokuu won't say. He just wants to know where Gohan is -- safe in the capsule. They go on about being, and not being, brothers again. Piccolo gets tired of the talking, and takes off his outer clothes. Gokuu notices that the demon king is also wearing heavy clothes for power training. It has been a long time since he'd taken them off. With both of them made lighter, Piccolo's level jumps to 408, and Gokuu's is 416. Radits comments on this, but Gokuu doesn't understand. This is a good place to fight, and Radits tells them to use any technique they wish. But he'll still kill them. They can't believe how fast and powerful the Saiya-jin is. They ponder this for a moment, and then Radits says that the two Saiya-jin that will be coming after him, are even stronger. Gokuu again asks where Gohan is, and Radits tells him. Gokuu then yells out to Gohan that he's come to save him. Radits replies that they've just come here to die. Then they fight some more. Piccolo loses his arm, and Gokuu is still looking up when Radits appears behind him "I'm here." Eventually, they break. Gokuu asks if Piccolo is ok, and the demon (holding his left stump,) says he's fine. Radits blusters, and Piccolo whispers that he's learned a new attack that will take time to prepare. So, he wants Gokuu to keep Radits busy for a while. Gokuu asks if the demon can do the technique -- don't worry. But, they also don't have a choice. Radits wonders what the whispering is about, then Gokuu says they're ready again. Gokuu attacks, while Piccolo announces Makankousappou. Gokuu starts Kamehame-ha, and his power level jumps to 924. Radits is surprised, then notices that Piccolo's is up to 1020. Gokuu completes the blast, but doesn't expect it when Radits stop it with his hands. The hero can't believe this, and Radits sends up "a present." Radits yells out "die", but Piccolo states that the alien will be the one to die. The alien is awed that Piccolo's power is up to 1330. The demon king completes the spell before Radits can fire back. So, the Saiya-jin moves to the side, instead. They bluster a bit, and then Radits gets ready to finally kill Piccolo. But, his power suddenly dissipates. Gokuu announces why. Radits drops, and Gokuu tells Piccolo to fire again. Radits asks if Kakarot would really kill his older brother, then declares that he's had a change of heart and wants to go straight. Piccolo tells Gokuu to not listen, but Radits says he's telling the truth and Gokuu lets go of the tail. Piccolo yells out "Son Gokuu" and Gokuu gets dropped. Radits then says that no real warrior would fall for a trick like that. He himself has no qualms about killing his little brother. Radits breaks a few ribs. The Saiya-jin is having fun, announcing that Piccolo will be next. Piccolo can't act in time. Then, the power sensor goes off, and Gohan breaks free of the space capsule. Gokuu tells Gohan to escape, Radits notices that the boy is up to 1307, and Gohan yells out "You're hurting my father!!!!" Radits gets knocked back, and Gohan calls out to his father. Gokuu tells the boy to run away. Gohan is now down to 1, and is batted away. Gokuu tells his brother to stop, but Radits is aware that the boy could be a really bad threat, and is going to kill him. Gokuu recovers a bit, and tells Piccolo to use that technique again. Piccolo says it'll take time, and asks why Gokuu doesn't just grab the tail again. But, the tail can be cut off... Gokuu wants Piccolo to hurry, and Radits is complaining about having been weakened by Gohan's blow. Radits tells Gokuu to let go, but the two of them are going to die together. Piccolo says that he'll enjoy killing them both, but thinks that he will get the Dragon Balls to just wish Gokuu back to life. Radits is still pleading when Piccolo fires. Radits swears. But Gokuu is going to die, too. No he's not -- Piccolo tells him about the Dragon Balls. Radits radios this info back to his friends. Gokuu asks when the new attackers will arrive, and radits answers "in 1 year." His power is almost gone, but he's gloating about the upcoming death and destruction, calling all of the potential victims insects, so Piccolo finishes him off. Kamesennin and group show up, and see the heros on the ground. On a distant planet, Napa states that Radits is dead. They get ready to visit this new planet, where Vejita wants to find these things called Dragon Balls. "To bring Radits back?" "Don't be stupid." He plans on having more fun than that. They head for the new planet, talking about becoming the fabled Super Saiya-jin of legend. Gohan is ok, but Gokuu is about to die. Then, Kami-sama summons Gokuu's body for his own reasons. Nappa and Vejita look forward to the fun they'll have one year from now.
[On page 7, Gokuu says that he's dead.] Kamesennin, Buruma, and Kuririn are wondering why Kami-sama has taken Gokuu's body. Kuririn wants to get the other Balls and wish Gokuu back to life. Then Piccolo mentions the power scanner, and Buruma comments on its complexity. She'll take the scanner, while Kuririn is to find Yamcha and Tenshinhan. The group with re-form at Kame House, and after, Kuririn will start looking for the other Balls. As for Piccolo... (his growing another arm is like a lizard growing another tail.) Piccolo asks to take Gohan. Kuririn asks "to eat!?" No, instead, because Gohan is so strong, he wants to train the brat for one year, to get the brat ready for the 2 Saiya-jin. The others object, but can't really stop the demon king, as they worry about how Gokuu and Chi Chi will react. In heaven (the box lists it as "That World") the flickering souls of the newly dead are told to get in one of two lines. Kami-sama is sponsoring Gokuu, as Enmadaiou is trying to decide what to do with him. Since, all of the dead come her, Gokuu wants to know what's happened to his grandfather (went to heaven.) How about Radits (when to hell.) Kami-sama yells at Gokuu to keep his voice down, stop asking so many questions, and to pay the big guy more respect. The big guy comments on where Kami-sama will go when he dies, which humbles the god a bit. The the gate keeper tells Gokuu to meet a minion, who'll drive him out to the Snake Road. At the end of the road Kaiou-sama will train Gokuu some more. Gokuu thanks them and leaves, and Kami-sama broods about the future, about the Saiya-jin, and about Kaiou-sama. Enmadaiou tells the god to shut up and get out of the way. The minion tells Gokuu that Kaiou-sama is a kind of god, and lives at the end of the Snake Road. Gokuu has to travel the 1 million kilometers to get to the end of the road. If he falls through the clouds, he'll land in hell. Gokuu wishes that he had a bentou lunch to bring with him, and is told that the dead don't need food. Gokuu asks the minion to pass on a message to Uranai Baba (the minion knows her,) to have Kamesennin ressurrect Gokuu only after at the end of one year. The minion records this. Then, Gokuu uses Bukuujitsu to fly down the road. Kamesennin realizes that he's going to have to tell Chi Chi what happened, and wants Kuririn to handle this instead. Gokuu is now running on the road, commenting that Bukuujitshu didn't work. Meanwhile, Piccolo wants Gohan to wake up. He tells the sputtering kid that he'd been dropped in the water, because they need to talk. Gohan yells for his father for help. Eventually, Piccolo says that Gokuu is dead. Then, he'll really do nasty things if the boy starts crying again. However, these cool things called Dragon Balls can be used to bring Gokuu back to life. However, these nasty people called Saiya-jin will be arriving in one year. So, to help dad, Gohan is going to learn to fight. Which Gohan doesn't want to do. Piccolo says that Gohan has power, but the boy doesn't believe this. To prove it, Piccolo grabs Gohan roughly by the head, and hurls the screaming boy at a big rock outcropping. Piccolo hopes that this is going to work. But didn't realize how well it would work... Now, it's just a matter of training. Gohan is scared, but they don't have time for that. The boy is told to take his outer clothes off. He asks about his father, and Piccolo makes fun of the dead man (which causes Gokuu to sneeze, without knowing why.) The first part of the training is sheer survival. Piccolo is going to abandon the boy for 6 months. Gohan is frightened, and asks where the shower is, where the bed is. Piccolo sneers, and leaves. Gohan yells for the demon king to stay. Mr. Popo remarks on Kami-sama's behavior. The god, and then Mr. Popo, are worried about what's going to happen when Piccolo finally has to face the 2 Saiya-jin one year from now. They can use the Dragon Balls, one year from now. Back on earth, Gohan keeps crying and saying that he's scared. He yells for someone to save him when the dinosaur attacks. Then complains about having to get down from the rock pillar he's now on. At night, he's afraid of dying, but the sight of the green apples before him perks him up a bit. But they taste bad. Piccolo is disgusted with the "shit brat's" loser attitude. Meanwhile, Gokuu is getting tired on the road. Gohan gets up in the middle of the night to take a piss, and complains about how hard it is to get down from the top of the pillar. But, the night is strange to him, and there's this odd big white ball in the sky... He looks at the full moon. Piccolo doesn't understand how Gohan became this huge, raging were-monkey. The power scares him, then he remembered what Radits said about what happens to Saiya-jin who look at the full moon. So, he blows the moon up. Gohan is now proven to be a Saiya-jin, and Piccolo thinks about this. And, since the tail is part of what causes the change-over, Piccolo pulls it off. Piccolo also wants to get the boy something to work with, so he creates a sword, and an uniform like Gokuu's, but with a slight change to the kanji on it (it now reads "Ma".) After 6 months, the real training, the teaching of attack techniques and magic, will begin. Gyoumaou is trying to calm down his daughter, who plans on berating her husband for being gone so long with their son (who should be at home, studying.) At Kame House, Buruma has gotten the power sensor to work. She uses a machine gun to wake people up and complain about how she's working, and they're asleep. Then, she tells the old turtle man to stand up. Kamesennin stutters on this, as she states that he has a power level of 139. He's impressed, so Kuririn asks to be read next. 206, which is better than the old man. Buruma comments on the designs of the Saiya-jin, and then states that at about 3000 km, someone has a rating of 250. Kuririn figures that it has to be Tenshinhan [why doesn't Chao-zu register?] In a different direction, there's a 177, which Kamesennin claims is probably Yamcha. Somewhere else, there's an impressive 329. Probably Piccolo, but Gohan is supposed to be with him. Kuririn wants to go rescue Gohan, but Kamsennin says to leave them alone. But it is time to get the other Dragon Balls. [Note: On pages 65 and 70, the place where Kuririn was smashed into the wall by Radits has been repaired.] At the door, Yajirobee calls out to get attention to himself. Kuririn recognizes the guy from Karin Tower -- Arumajiro (the monk corrects him.) He's there to tell the group that something is happening at Karin Tower, and everyone, including Tenshinhan, Yamcha, and Chao-zu are to meet Kami-sama there. They're to get ready to fight the two Saiya-jin. Also, the Dragon Balls should not be used to bring Gokuu back right away. According to Uranai Baba, Gokuu is training in heaven, and doesn't want to be resurrected until the end of one year. Kuririn comments about getting special training in heave, and then they see an approaching craft. Gyoumaou yells out a greeting to Kamesennin, who realizes that Chi Chi is coming. The big guy humbly greets his master, and Chi Chi wants to know where Gohan and her worthless husband are -- well... "Piccolo has Gohan, and Gokuu is dead." Chi Chi faints. 6 months go by. The group trains under Kami-sama and Gokuu is still running on the snake bridge. And what of Gohan? He's still alive. He greets the dinosaur as it attacks him again. And then uses part of the tail for supper. Now, it's time for Piccolo to get down to serious training. When Piccolo disappears, he says "behind you," and kicks the boy down. Gohan says that Piccolo is fast, then gets a warning about breaking in the middle of a fight to brush off your clothes. Piccolo is serious about his job of training Gohan to fight for the next 6 months, and the boy expects to die first. Which means that Gohan will just have to get stronger. Finally, Gokuu reaches the end of the road, after running for one year. But, there's nothing else there. Except for a little sphere some distance up and away. Gokuu assumes that that's where Kaiou-sama lives, and leaps up. The sight of a house reassures him, but the sudden increase in gravity takes him by surprise. There's a monkey outside waiting for him, so Gokuu asks if this is Kaiou-sama, and introduces himself. The monkey starts prancing around, and Gokuu assumes that the training has already started under this heavy gravity. He repeats the grunting made by the monkey, until someone else comes out and asks what Gokuu thinks he's doing. Gokuu asks who the guy is, and he chuckles, saying "I'm... ummm... Kai... yo... Kai -- o, Kaiou... Kaiou!" Gokuu then asks who the monkey is, and is told that's Kaiou's pet, Bubbles. Kaiou tries to make a pun that goes over Gokuu's head, so Kaiou asks why the guy came here. Gokuu replies that he wants to learn Kaiou's special techniques, and Kaiou tells him to return to where he came. Then, Gokuu starts laughing at the pun. This exchange continues for a while (Kaiou considers himself something of a comic.) Finally, Kaiou wants to see Gokuu attack, but the guy complains that his body is too heavy, and can't move. Kaiou says that the little planet's gravity is 10 times stronger than where Gokuu came from, and Gokuu's jump is a test to see what height he can reach. Kaiou asks why Gokuu needs the special training, and he states that his world is going to be invaded by two Saiya-jin. Kaiou then locates the two invaders, and knows that they're 158 days out. Kaiou agrees to do the training, since his is the strongest techniques of all. The training is to now start -- Gokuu has to catch Bubbles. The weighted clothes are too heavy, but even without them, Bubbles is too fast. But, part of the problem is that Gokuu hasn't eaten in a while, so he asks for some food. However, after the meal, Kaiou wants to go for a drive. Now, Gokuu has to walk back. Kaiou asks Gokuu if the guy knows just how strong Saiya-jin really are, and Gokuu replies that he's a Saiya-jin too. Gohan asks Piccolo if the demon king really fought Gokuu, and the king says that the fight isn't over. Gohan states that Piccolo isn't that bad a guy, and that his parents aren't afraid of him -- which just makes Piccolo angry. "Shut up and go to sleep!!!" 40 days later, Gokuu is happy at being able to catch Bubbles. Kaiou is happy that Gokuu is such a strong student, and the next step is to teach him the Kaiou techniques within the next 118 days. It requires a pure heart, strong body, etc. But, they'll do it after tea. Above Karin Tower, Kami-sama is telling the group that there's nothing more that he and Mr. Popo can teach them -- have have to go out and train on their own now. Piccolo is satisfied that Gohan is showing more control. And Uranai Baba tells Kamesennin that this one time, she can't predict the future. The insert boxes state that the time is coming nearer. Gokuu tells Kaiou to go ahead, and the World King throws his rock with "ultimate speed." Gokuu destroys it, and is told that he needs to use these techniques properly to be able to control the "genki tama" (healthy ball.) He explains the genki tama idea, and the use of lots of energy. Which means that you only get time to make one shot. Gokuu says that he understands, and will use Kaiou-ken wisely. So, the king says that the day of truth will come soon, and then... He'd forgotten that Gokuu needs time to travel along the Snake Road to get back to earth. He can't get back any other way, and it'll take two full days for the trip, which is one day too long. Kaiou tells Gokuu to use him to tell people to resurrect Gokuu now. Gokuu doesn't understand, but he immediately makes contact with Kamesennin, who's on the toilet. Gokuu tells the old man what's happening, and that the Saiya-jin will arrive tomorrow. Kamesennin understands, and the others ask if he's ok, talking to himself in the toilet. He shouts out for them to get the Balls. Gokuu is impressed with the king's ability, and he also gets a new uniform. Gokuu thanks him, and comments on being able to keep the "kame" logo (Kaiou chuckles, since the "kaiou" kanji is written on the back of the uniform.) Shenlon appears, and Oolong stammers out a wish to get rid of the two Saiya-jin. Buruma yells at him to wish for Gokuu back, and the pig replies that they can wish for Gokuu next time. Shenlon states that he can't do Oolong's request, since it has to be in keeping with Kami-sama's designs (giving life, etc.) So, Kamesennin wishes for Gokuu to be alive again. At the same time, Piccolo realizes that the darkened sky means that the Saiya-jin are about to arrive. The halo disappears, and Gokuu is now alive again. They exchange good wishes, and Gokuu thanks the king for everything -- if he dies again, they'll meet again. The hero rushes off, happy that he has body again. But, he does have to hurry. The two Saiya-jin arrive at 11:43 AM. The crowd talks about the two balls that fell, and that there's a person in one ball. Piccolo, Gohan, and Tenshin comment on the sudden surge of power, and the need to hurry. The crowd continues to mutter, and the two Saiya-jin state that the muttering is annoying. Vejita tells Nappa to settle down. The big guy remembers that they're after the whatever Balls ("Dragon Balls") for the wish. They use the scanners to find Radits' killer. But, Nappa picks up two people at level 1000, and they wonder about this planet. Then, Vejita finds Kakarot, and they fly to meet him. Yamcha notices that the two have started moving. Kuririn wonders if they're going to Ten's location, or Piccolo's. Piccolo says that the two are coming towards them. Ten wants Chao-zu to stay behind, but the midget wants to come along. On TV, the newscaster announces the loss of an eastern sector. Buruma wants to go help, but Oolong doesn't want to die, and Kamesennin knows that he can't do anything useful. So, Pool hopes that Yamcha won't die and Buruma prays that Gokuu will arrive in time. Gokuu hopes the same thing. 20 minutes after noon. Bats start gathering. Piccolo tells Gohan that after 1 year, they need to be strong. They notice more power, but it turns out to be Kuririn (Gohan thinks he's a Saiya-jin.) They greet each other, and Kuririn has to explain why he's come. Gohan finally recognize the noseless one as having been at Kamesennin's place. Gohan says that Kuririn is small, but strong, and Kuririn broods over this slight. Kuririn asks about Piccolo, and the kid says the demon king is a good guy. Then, the Saiya-jin are sensed. The Saiya-jin make fun of the three on the ground, and Kuririn comments on these guys being "Saiya-jin," and being very powerful. It's obvious that the three have been waiting for the invaders. Piccolo asks what they've come for, and Vejita recognizes the voice from when he'd heard it over Radits' radio. Nappa thinks that Piccolo looks like someone from planet Namek. (Kuririn wonders if this means that Piccolo is an alien. So, Piccolo comes from a planet of magic users.) Vejita says that they've also come for the Dragon Balls. Apparently, Namek is where the original Dragon Balls came from. They think that Piccolo has the Ball to give to them, but he's just there to fight them. Kami-sama is worried, and he talks about Namek a little. So, since they have to fight, Nappa starts reading off their opponent's power levels (Kuririn is 981, Piccolo is 1220, and Gohan is 1083.) He thinks that this is pitiful, but Vejita tells him that they don't need to use the scouters and that he should take his off. Nappa agrees, saying that Radits was a weakling for relying on his scouter (Piccolo chokes on the "weakling" part, and Kuririn continues, saying it had taken both Gokuu and Piccolo to kill Radits.) Since Vejita just wants the Dragon Balls, he tells Nappa to create 6 cybermen. Since the good guys are confused by this, Nappa tells them that this is how you make cybermen. Vejita tells the cybermen to hurt the three good guys. However, everyone notices an energy buildup just before Tenshinhan, Chao-zu, and Yamcha appear. They greet each other, and fill in the details for the new guys. Vejita is happy, and orders the cybermen to go one on one. He tells them to begin the game, and Piccolo gets rankled that this is called a "game," (Kuririn tries to calm him down because Gokuu hasn't shown yet.) They go one on one, with Vejita volunteering one of his cybermen, and Tenshin announcing that he'll start first. Nappa is surprised when Tenshin appears to win, and the others cheer the triclops. Vejita thinks that this is fun, but Nappa can't believe that anyone can defeat a cyberman (since they have power ratings of 1200.) Vejita discounts the use of pure numbers, which Nappa does believe in. The cyberman stands up, and Kuririn gives a warning. No one, however, expects it when Vejita destroys it with a simple gesture. Nappa asks why, and Vejita says that Tenshin had won. He gives a warning to the remaining cybermen. Piccolo thinks that Vejita is a madman. Vejita asks who's going to fight next, and Nappa reinforces the threat to the cybermen. Yamcha volunteers to fight next, but Kuririn wants to go. Gohan thinks that the cyberman has disappeared, and Piccolo calls him an idiot, saying that the creature is just moving very fast. Yamcha apparently defeats his creature, and gives a warning to the Saiya-jin, telling them that they're down to 4 of the things. Vejita tells him to think again. The creature grabs Yamcha, sneers, and explodes, killing Yamcha. This makes Kuririn angry, as he thinks about how this is going to affect Buruma and Pool. Kuririn tells the others to get back, and attacks. The group spreads out, as people comment on the energy level, and they tell each other to run. They cheer, and Kuririn is happy at having done some damage. But he missed one, and Tenshin curses. Piccolo stops it before it can touch Gohan, and Tenshin is surprised at how easy the demon king destroys it. Gohan thanks Piccolo, but the demon says that he wasn't trying to save the boy, that was only a warmup for the upcoming fight. Vejita walks through the smoke, hoping that the fight is going to be a good one. The others are surprised that the Saiya-jin aren't scratched, and Kuririn had attacked at full power. Nappa tells Vejita that he wants to handle the group, and finish them off in an instant. Vejita tells him to do what he wants. Nappa wants them to make it fun for him. Then he powers up, and Chao's ESP isn't working anymore. The others are astounded by the alien's strength, and he's about to attack.
Nappa powers up, and Piccolo announces the attack. Vejita laughs when Ten loses his arm. Nappa thinks "one down," but Ten narrowly escapes. He's annoyed that Ten is still alive after the second attack, and Piccolo can't believe the Saiya-jin's power. Kuririn swears, and Piccolo tries to stop him from rescuing his friend, but Kuririn tells the demon to shut up. The new hole shows Piccolo that Nappa has amazing energy. Kuririn notices that Chao-zu is missing, and Vejita shouts out a warning that Nappa is too slow to understand. Nappa curses the little brat while Ten yells at him to escape. Chao-zu telepaths "goodbye Ten-san, don't die." Ten can't believe this, and yells for Chao-zu to stop. Chao-zu self-destructs. Ten yells out Chao-zu's name, and Piccolo is proud of the runt. But Nappa's people can handle this kind of thing. Gokuu is trying to rush forward. Nappa claims that the triclops will be next. Kuririn is surprised that Nappa is still ok, and that Chao-zu is dead, and Ten knows that his friend can't be wished alive anymore. Nappa rubs it in. Piccolo tells Kuririn to get ready. Vejita starts talking to Piccolo to distract him as Nappa attacks. The demon and Kuririn warp out and back in to save Ten. Gohan is told to attack, but he freezes up in fear. Piccolo curses him, and Kuririn and the demon shoot instead. But their timing is off. Nappa kills time threatening them, so Tenshin decides to avenge Chao-zu with Kikouhou. Which fails. Piccolo calls Nappa a monster. Using Kikouhou causes Tenshin to die. Vejita thinks this kind of attack is stupid. Kuririn yells for Gokuu to hurry. Piccolo is stunned that Nappa hasn't died. Vejita wonders about this "Gokuu". Nappa states that with one more down, it's the others' turn. He also talks about Namek and getting the Dragon Balls. Kuririn asks about their chances of being brought back, and Piccolo says "none." Kuririn can't afford to die, either. Mr. Popo asks Kami-sama what's wrong, and the god wants Gokuu to hurry because Piccolo is about to die. Piccolo wants to land to use Kuuchuusen, and Nappa doesn't care where they want to fight. Nappa attacks, Gohan calls for his father, and Vejita tells Nappa to wait. No one understands, but the Saiya-jin wants Gokuu to arrive first, especially since it appears that these Dragon Balls can be used to resurrect people. He tells Nappa to wait for 3 hours, but the big guy refuses to do something so stupid. So Vejita reminds him of his place. During the lull, Gohan apologizes for freezing up, and Piccolo fumes about the strength of the big guy and the shrimp who controls him. The big alien wants to know why they're waiting for Kakarot, and the shrimp likens the situation to a stew, where you need all the ingredients. Nappa likes this better, and Vejita mentions Namek's Dragon Balls again. Kuririn is fretting over what's taking Gokuu so long and the fact that the two Saiya-jin are so strong. Vejita's scouter beeps, showing that the three hours are up, and the little Saiya-jin insults Gokuu. Piccolo states that the one chance they have for winning is for Kuririn to distract Nappa, while Piccolo goes in to grab Nappa's tail. Then, Gohan is to finish the guy off. Gohan promises (in a stutter) to do better this time. Kuririn is impressed with the demon. Then, Kami-sama yells that Gokuu has arrived, and warps out. Gokuu sees the end of the Snake Road, meets up with Kami-sama (they yell each other's name,) and then warp out. The gate demon comments on this being a Kaiou-sama thing. Mr. Popo wishes Gokuu luck, and Gokuu rushes off hoping that Gohan and the others are still alive. Karin-sama is waiting for Gokuu, and throws him 2 senzu seeds. He eats one (gets better very fast,) and saves the other. Calling Kintoen, he tells the cloud "long time no see." He then flies towards the location of a great power build up. Kuririn starts his attack, Piccolo makes his move and calls for Gohan. Kuririn thinks they've succeeded, but Nappa calls them stupid, and drops Piccolo. He's happy that Piccolo isn't dead, and he asks about the Dragon Balls. Vejita laughs, because their tails aren't their weak points. Nappa is through with Piccolo, and goes to play with Gohan. Although Gohan has Saiya-jin blood, he's been tainted by his father, Kakarot, so must die. Kuririn wants Nappa to stop, and Nappa isn't done playing yet. Kuririn calls him a bastard, and attacks. Vejita likes Kuririn's moves, but Nappa just gets angry. Kuririn uses Kien-zan. Nappa isn't impressed, but Vejita tells him to avoid the ball, which cuts his cheek and trashes a hilltop. The sight of his own blood enrages Nappa, and he uses a killing attack that leaves him open for Piccolo's blindside blast. And Vejita laughs at his partner's pain. Nappa threatens Piccolo, who then senses a powerful presence. Nappa wonders what it is, Piccolo answers that Gokuu is coming, and tells them that this is what they'd been waiting for. There are various reactions to this, and Gokuu approaches, summing up power levels ("2 big levels, 2 lesser levels, one small level. So, who's dead?") He wants Kintoen to go faster. Nappa asks if the enemy are right about Kakarot coming. Vejita isn't sure who it is, but in 4 minutes, someone with a 5000 level will arrive. Nappa thinks there must be a mistake, Vejita gets pensive, Piccolo gloats, and then Vejita tells Nappa to kill Piccolo and Gohan so they can leave before Kakarot can show up. Nappa asks about how they'll find the Dragon Balls, and Vejita says he'll do that himself. He knows where Namek is, and the more powerful Balls are there. Nappa sneers over this 5000 level Kakarot. Gohan tells Piccolo to escape -- he'll hold the two until his father arrives. That way Piccolo won't die, and neither will Kami-sama. But Piccolo won't do it. Kuririn curses, unable to move. Nappa asks if Gohan can really hold him off, and charges. Gohan gets some spirit, which only makes Nappa mad with the "brat." He attacks, shouting "die!!!!!" But gets Piccolo, instead. The demon tells Gohan to escape, then collapses. Gohan asks why Piccolo saved him, and the demon just repeats "run away." Gohan tells him to not die. Nappa thinks it was a stupid move, but it was still fine by him. Gokuu notices that one power level has just dropped fast, and he wonders who it is. Kami-sama is suffering too. Piccolo says that Gohan is on his own, warns him about the moon, and then dies. Kami-sama goes, too. Mr. Popo shouts out "Kami-sama!!!!" Gohan uses Masen-kou, and everyone notices his power level jump to 2800. However, Nappa punches the blast away, then comments on Gohan's having become a bit more impressive (looks like his hand hurts a little.) However, Vejita knows that Gohan has shot his wad. Gohan apologizes to Piccolo for failing, Kuririn curses, and Nappa comes in for the kill (laughing at Gohan's weakness.) The boy notices that he's now riding on Kintoen, Nappa asks what happened, and Kuririn says Gokuu's name. The two survivors greet their rescuer, and Vejita says that his arrival is a good joke. Gohan tells his father that Piccolo had died while protecting him. Gokuu counts the dead -- Tenshinhan, Yamcha; Nappa laughs, trying to increase the shock by mentioning another dead runt. Gokuu realizes that this means Chao-zu, and of course Kami-sama. Vejita watches Gokuu's power level rise. Gokuu approaches Nappa, who thinks that the man wants to die also. He attacks, but Gokuu only wants to get Gohan to go over by Kuririn. Vejita thinks "fast..." Gokuu tries to give his last senzu seed to his friend, but Kuririn wants it saved for Gokuu himself. Finally, Kuririn eats half, and Gohan eats the other half. Gokuu tries to cheer them up, but the two feel that they weren't strong enough to keep their friends from dying. But now that Gokuu is here... but Gokuu wants them to leave, so that he can fight on his own. Kuririn and Gohan object, but Gokuu has started powering up. Realizing that they're not in the same league, Kuririn decides to take Gohan away. Nappa keeps blustering. Vejita breaks his scouter when Gokuu's level clears 8000. Nappa asks what Kakarot's level is, but then believes that there's some mistake. Gokuu wants him to worry, and says that he's using Kaiou's techniques. (Vejita doesn't understand what this means.) Nappa loses his cool and attacks. Everyone is surprised at Gokuu's speed. (Vejita notices that this isn't the same thing that happened when Radits was doing the fighting.) Gokuu is not impressed with Nappa, who then also powers up. Kuririn and Gohan can't see Gokuu move, and Vejita wonders how Kakarot could have gotten better so fast. Gokuu's first real punch was pay-back for Chao-zu. The second is for Yamcha. Nappa curses him as a "shit brat." Nappa's killing blast is stopped, and Vejita wonders about someone that can do that with just a kiai. The third blow is for Tenshinhan. The kick is for Piccolo. Nappa starts yelling out "Shit -- shit -- !!!!!" Gokuu decides that Nappa really is tough. Nappa blusters, Kuririn and Gohan cheer (thinking they're going to win,) and Vejita tells him to use his head. Nappa thanks him for the advice. Vejita thinks that the big guy is an idiot. Nappa can now use his special powers, which gives Gokuu a little fun. Then, Nappa mentions his mouth attack, and declares the fight over. Gokuu uses an abbreviated form of Kamehame-ha (just the "Ha" part) to protect himself. Vejita is annoyed, because the blast got close to him. Nappa is stunned, because his #1 attack proved useless. However, Gokuu is more impressed at Nappa's toughness. Vejita is getting impatient. Kuririn is impressed with the big guy. Since he has to keep Vejita happy, and he can't touch Gokuu, Nappa decides to take on Kuririn and Gohan, instead. So, as Nappa gets ready to use his mouth attack, Gokuu uses Kaiou-ken to become faster and more powerful. Gokuu finishes off Nappa, and tells them to leave. Vejita mulls over Gokuu's improved power and speed. Nappa swears, Vejita fumes, and Kuririn asks if his friend learned this attack from Kaiou-sama. Gokuu states that it's an increase in control. However, there are drawbacks to the teachings. Nappa asks Vejita to help him, apologizing. But, Vejita just sneers, states that he's useless as a Saiya-jin, and kills his partner. The power surge hits Gokuu. The heroes try to understand this, and Gokuu tells them to return to Kame House. They argue about this (including the fact that Piccolo and Kami-sama can't be brought back via the Dragon Balls.) Vejita wonders if they're going to fight, or run. Kuririn and Gohan give their last respects to Gokuu, and return to Kame House. Vejita tells Gokuu that running away wouldn't have been any good anyway. However, this is a bad place to fight, so they search for a better battleground. They find a place where there's nothing living. Vejita talks about the soldier nature of the Saiya-jin, and then they get ready to fight. Eventually, Vejita asks Kakarot what's wrong, and then shows that Nappa was a wuss. However, Gokuu states that he hasn't been trying all that hard himself, and uses Kaiou-ken to power up. They fight some more, and Gokuu still gets hit. Then Vejita and Gokuu bluster a bit. Vejita finally decides to power up. Gokuu is surprised at the energy, and feels like he's being hit by a typhoon. All the clouds are blown away. Vejita says it's over, and attacks. Gokuu gets hit from behind, and gears up to Kaiou-ken #2. Vejita is having fun. Gokuu curses at the other's power and speed, which are too much for KK#2. He prepares himself for the death of his body, and announces that he's going to use KK#3. Which amuses Vejita. Meanwhile, there was one fighter who had not appeared earlier to attack the Saiya-jin. Yajirobee cowers behind the rocks, thinking that the power of the two combatants seems to have come out from a bad dream. Gokuu thinks about the stresses KK#3 will put on his body. Vejita taunts Gokuu, and Yajirobee keeps cowering. Gokuu uses KK#3, which Kaiou-sama senses (the king can not predict the outcome of the fight.) They fight, and Vejita gets mad at getting messed up. Finally, Gokuu gets in one good punch, which enrages the surprised Saiya-jin. Gokuu curses the other's toughness. Yajirobee is impressed, and hopes Gokuu will win. KK#3 is starting to take it's toll on Gokuu's body, Vejita sees his own blood and goes insane. They both react, with Vejita using Gyarikku-hou, and Gokuu using KK#3 Kamehame-ha. They both strain, and Gokuu pushes into KK#4. Yajirobee rushes out, thinking that Gokuu has won. They greet each other, but the monk's slap on the back puts Gokuu in a coughing fit. Then, Gokuu suggests that the monk run away; Yajirobee slowly realizes what may be wrong. Yes, Vejita is still alive, and Yajirobee has trouble accepting this. But, he does leave, wishing Gokuu good luck. Vejita frees himself from the blast, and rages on about being the best Saiya-jin in the world. He then has a thought, and goes searching for this planet's moon. Kaiou-sama frets over Gokuu's chances, Gokuu wonders what's taking Vejita so long, and Vejita wonders where they've put the moon for this planet. No matter, he can make due without it. Gokuu is thinking about Kaiou-sama's concept of a genki tama. Vejita returns, talking about the missing moon (Gokuu doesn't understand.) The Saiya-jin describes the brute strength increase Saiya-jin get when they see the full moon. And, he makes a little one of his own. Gokuu doesn't recognize the full moon (without his tail, it has no effect.) Kaiou-sama is stunned. Vejita gloats, and then changes into a were-monkey. Kuririn and Gohan are near Kame House, when they sense the light and power of a star behind them. The power isn't from Gohan's father, so it must be that of the Saiya-jin. Gohan has to go back and help his dad. They argue a little, but Gohan isn't going to run away any more. Kuririn decides to go with. Gokuu is stunned, and Vejita asks him about the new situation. Vejita claims that his power has increased by a factor of ten. As Gokuu thinks about this, he remembers a warning his grandfather had made about not looking at the full moon, and remaining asleep at night. Then Kami-sama had suggested removing the tail. Gokuu suddenly realizes that when he'd been a were-monkey a long time ago, he'd killed his own grandfather by accident. He apologizes to the old man, living in "the other world." Yajirobee is trying to understand that Saiya-jin turn into were-monkeys. Gokuu thinks about "genki tama," and attacks. He loses his concentration, and has to re-invoke Kaiou-ken. But, he loses it again. Vejita tells him to try to run away, and Gokuu thinks about using KK#5, which requires a 10 second rest. He needs an opening, so he uses Tenshin's blinding Taiyou-ken. During the lull, Gokuu invokes the power of the sea to give him energy to recover. Vejita curses his blindness, and gets better before Gokuu has fully recharged himself. But, Gokuu is a lot better now, too. Vejita finds him and uses a mouth blast to undo all of that recharging. Gokuu is nearly helpless, but does dodge a few of Vejita's attacks. Vejita steps on Gokuu's legs, crushing them. Kuririn states that Gokuu's power has dropped a lot. Gohan yells "father" and he keeps approaching. Vejita gloats, then prepares to finish off his enemy, and then the rest of the world. Gokuu curses, looking like he's lost, but he still has energy for one more attack. As Vejita grabs his damaged eye, Gokuu waits for the end. Vejita picks up the body, raging over the damage to his face. Yajirobee can't do anything, and Gokuu's ribs break. Gohan and Kuririn are very close now. Kuririn can't understand the point of the glowing orb. They see the giant were-monkey, and Kuririn tells Gohan to land. Kuririn wants to help Gokuu, but they find Yajirobee first. He says that the were-monkey is the Saiya-jin, and Kuririn growls out that he knows. And that they have to cut off its tail. Kuririn states that Gohan and he will act as a distraction, while Yajirobee does the cutting. Yajirobee hates this idea, since Vejita is so strong. Gohan thinks to his father to not die, and Kuririn realizes that Gokuu's power level is so low that his friend will soon die. Vejita notices something, and Gohan attracts his attention. Kuririn prepares Kien-zan. Vejita makes Gohan watch his father's torture. Kuririn attacks, but misses. Vejita notices the other guy, but dismisses him to continue killing Kakarot. Kuririn fumes helplessly, and apologizes to Gokuu. Then, something happens. Vejita discovers that there was one more insect. Now, with his tail cut off, he reverts to normal. Yajirobee prays that no one noticed him. Kuririn praises the monk (who keeps cowering,) and Vejita promises to kill everyone. Gohan is trying to understand how the monster changed into the Saiya-jin. Vejita takes his rage out on the human-Saiya-jin child, and keeps on about the boy not being a pure-blood. Then, the boy is discarded to die with his father. Gokuu tells the boy that he can't move, so Gohan has to keep trying. Vejita notices that Gokuu is still awake. Gohan replies that he's powerless, too. Vejita decides to kill Gokuu, and then the brat. After, it's the bastard that had cut his tail. Yajirobee panics. Gokuu tries to reassure his son, but the boy claims he can't move. Gokuu yells at him to not die, and to remember what Piccolo had taught him. Vejita continues to rough up Gokuu, Gokuu calls to Gohan, and the boy tells the Saiya-jin to stop it. Gohan's claim to assault Vejita amuses the alien. But, he is surprised at the boy's attack. Gokuu tells Kuririn to come over. Kuririn says that Gohan should be allowed to escape, but the man states that he's going to give Kuririn the genki tama. Kuririn doesn't understand, so Gokuu explains a little, and then tells his friend to hurry because Gohan's going to die. The little guy is told to hold Gokuu's hand, then the transfer occurs. Now, he's overwhelmed by the power he's just been given. Gokuu wishes him luck, since this is a level of power Gohan can't control. Gokuu also says that this new sphere is the Genki Tama. It's a one-shot, because Gokuu can't make another one. Kuririn says he understands. The other two keep fighting, then Vejita claims that he's the baddest, and disappears before Kuririn can attack. A voice sounds in Kuririn's head, telling him not to try to see the opponent with his eyes while trying to use the Genki Tama. It's Kaiou-sama, giving advice. Vejita gloats at having superior speed, and Kuririn is told to sense the power of evil. Gohan gets blasted, as Kuririn tries to find Vejita without using his eyes. Yajirobee notices the great power of the ball. Vejita wants Gokuu to see what happens to the boy. Kuririn suddenly senses the great evil, and Yajirobee yells out for the runt to fire away already. Vejita is alerted, Kuririn swears at the monk and fires. Vejita wonders what this is, and leaps out of the way. This was the last chance, and now it's going to kill Gohan. Gokuu thinks out for Gohan to sense the presense of evil and redirect the attack. Which happens. Everyone is impressed by the reaction, and they celebrate and congratulate each other. Vejita's body lands, and Kuririn thinks it's just a corpse. But, Vejita isn't killed so easily. Kaiou can't believe that the genki tama hadn't been effective. Vejita is ready for payback time, at having been damaged. Kuririn has to wait to die, though. What hurts the Saiya-jin most, is the assault on his pride. He powers up further, and Gokuu just swears. Vejita tries to destroy the area, but only succeeds in blowing the bodies around without killing anyone. He tries to hurry to finish everyone off, before the last of his strength fades. Then, Vejita notices Gohan's tail, and tries to kill the boy before he can see the artifical moon. Kuririn understands what this means, too. Then, Vejita senses someone behind him. Yajirobee celebrates, thinking that he's killed the alien. But, Vejita stands back up, calling the monk a bastard. Yajirobee starts apologizing, saying it was all just a big joke. Vejita finishes off the monk, and returns to the more important tasks. Gokuu yells out for his boy to look up at the moon. Yelling that he's blown it, Vejita rushes in and yells "die!!!" Too late. Trying to kill the changing monster, Vejita keeps pounding away. Then, the prince decides to go for the tail to rip it off. Which makes him vulnerable, instead. However, neither Gokuu nor Gohan can control themselves in were-monkey form. Kuririn realizes that this is "like father, like son." He yells out for Gohan to attack the Saiya-jin, which the boy does. The runt is happier, because Gohan has a little bit of humanity in him. Vejita is starting to hurt, and his artifical moon will last for a full hour. His only choice is to cut off the tail. He attacks with something similar to Kuririn's Kien-zan. The attack succeeds, but he can't move out of the way in time. Gohan's partially changed body lands on him. Kuririn hopes that it's over, while the alien has enough energy to summon his space ship. Elsewhere, some men are excavating the alien craft, trying to analyze it, when it takes off. They are left sprawling, wondering what happened. Lying helplessly on the ground, waiting for the speeding ship, Vejita can't believe that he's been beaten.
