Animal Safari Parks & Zoo's
They
may tell you that they are for animals own good and for the preservation and
conservation of rare endangered species, but isn't that also what they tell you
in Marine Wildlife Parks?
Safari parks can be good or bad, but there are those that are beyond imagination
with animals suffering with starvation and like to the left, chains!
Animals in safari parks are always caught from the wild, maybe some were born behind bars, but with those who were captured from the wild were would the captivated babies be? Just like every other form of entertainment there are lies and there are stories to tell, it just seems that many owners don't particularly want to share them... and that is were Veggie Roxs comes in! ; ) Not long ago a friend of ours visited a safari park during the night and discovered horrific facts! This is what he saw...
'Unnamed' Account Of A Safari Park After Hours
'Okay, so if I was ever caught when I was there than I would have ended up with a record, but you know, it's for the animals and I couldn't care less what happened to me. I'm just so glad that I saw what I did! I crossed the park entrance and came to a lions den, thank God this wasn't a safari park otherwise I would have been in trouble! The lions were sleeping, this was strange because lions are nocturnal and they should have been awake and playing with their cubs. One male lion had an open gash above his eye, probably from the other male lion he was sharing his cage with. I came to an elephant pen with a female elephant that was chained by the feet to a wall and her calf was behind bars on the other side of the cage, unable to rub trunks with his mother. The male calf was most probably about 3 to 4 years old, but he was still very fond of his mother. Visiting the small animals encounter, like the sheep, goats and pigs etc, they were all kept in barns with little straw, but there was food. There was hardly any water in the Shetland ponies water trawl and I couldn't help myself by filling the water up and grooming the little pony's mattered mane. The other things I saw at this park was all the same, unnatural behaviour, cuts and scars, open wounds, infected hoofs and little food and water. For the chickens and geese there was a very likely event of a fox coming in a ripping the animals apart (not saying that it is wrong, but they could have prevented this more) As I was coming out of the part I was unfortunately caught by a security guard and battered across the face, there is now a scar across my face, but it brings back memories. I'm glad I did what I did and I wont ever regret what I saw. I fight against safari parks and I wont ever stop! BEWARE SEA WORLD!!!'
So There you have a personal message against safari parks, maybe what they do
is not as bad as circuses and other things like that, but still animals are abused
in these parks and it has been seen. There are some animals that need to be
protected like Giant Panda's and some animals like that, but if they were to
be placed into captivity than they could be placed into something like a
conservation park like the world wide group 'Greenpeace' does and ask people
to sponsor them, but zoos and safari parks are not places for animals to spend
the rest of their lives. Zoo's are very unreliable to keep animals alive and
do not research there animals very well at all! London Zoo, the largest zoo in
London has recently imported two of the rarest animals in the world the Komodo
Dragon and although I have seen them already I cannot say that they are happy
and even worse to say, one is now dead! The male Komodo was trying to mate
with the female and climbed to high onto a perch, fell and snapped his neck,
now if London Zoo had done their research properly than they would know that
Komodo's climb to mate and jump on top of a female and with the facilities
these animals has were not for their best interest! London Zoo caused the
death of the Komodo, they should have researched more.
It seems that now the mass number of animals that are being born into the world
have to suffer this fate of life just as those do in marine parks, zoos,
circuses and rodeos. I feel that it is those that own this places have the least
respect for the creatures of the earth. Now that there are so many exploitation
issues in animals than man can get away with the little things, well they can't
because it is people like Veggie Roxs, PETA, VIVA! and the other animal rights
organizations that try to stop these silly little places! Marine Parks and Zoos
are very alike, in Zoos animals have to perform shows in front of people, maybe
not such pathetic ones at Marine Parks because people know that whales and
dolphins leap in the wild, but in a zoo owners have to perform the natural
tricks otherwise they are dead... just like the millions of depressed animals
that die each year!
