Xira
Xira looked over at Tiyanni, her face settled. "So thats why they are all down there... hm... I never realised thigns like that could happen..." she paused. "So, they are just like abandoned dragons?"
Tiyanni nodded, a small smile playing across her face as she watched the young woman. She had left the cloak back down at the caverns, emerging with her weapons. They did tend to scare many of the people, but stranges things happened at Ryslen. "Yes."
Xira nodded. "Well then, maybe I can help... I'll send word over to Naeodin about it... she hasn't heard yet, as she?" at Tiyanni's shake of the head, she nodded. "We want the best for them, don't we?" she paused. "Especially that Xenarioth... she seems kind of lonely, even with all that bossiness..." she smiled, and nodded. "Well, I'll be leaving then... got a job to do."
Tiyanni frowned. "Why are you still helping that man kill people?"
Xira clucked her tongue. "Not just people, but evil people. Have you heard of the stuff they do to the creatures raised by Shy? ITs just..." she shuddered. "Besides... its one thing I'm good at." she chuckled. "Even I have to admit it... you know... when I was healing, I wanted to be a rider like you..." she paused to look at Tiyanni''s reaction. "But then, although a dragon and a rider are fit for each other, what sort of dragon would want a bossy young woman who kills people for a living? Its not something I like to dwell on, so I decided to move on and instead, devoted my time to... my profession." her smile fell, then grew once more. "That way, at least I'm the good guy in the story books."
"Now don't be a bad little boy, and listen." Xira said softly, pressing the knife edge to his throat, pressing just slightly so that a bead of blood appeared. "Where is the creature?" when the man pointed to a small box in the corner, using her other hand, she pulled out her gun and aimed it to the lock, firing off just once, and watched as it fell to the ground. Out of the box, a creature slid out and stared at her. "You get on going back to Shy's." she said softly, feeling a ache as she saw the condition the creature was in. It was suppose to habe wings, yet all that was left of the wings was the skeleton like structure. She stiffened her heart, and turned back to the man. "Now that was a very bad thing to do..."
"Move your knife from his throat." came a soft voice, which was accompanied by a small gun pressed to the side of Xira's face, the temple. Xira stiffened, then dropped the knife, before going into her cloak to pull out two. One sliced the other man's throat the same time she kicked upwards with her foot, aiming the gun into the ceiling as it went off.
Just as swiftly, she aimed the other knife and threw it into the other man's stomache, yet she felt something cold graze against her skin, which was replaced by a stinging pain. Cursing, she turned to see another man standing there with a gun and watched as he tried to fire again.
She ducked, letting the bullet just graze her shoulder, where the neck connected to it near her collar bone. When she looked up, she saw that the creature she had saved had wrapped its tail around the mna, choking off his air supply. She nodded a thanks, before disappearing into the shadows. Her trip back to the Vella Crean was quick, and when she stumbled into Shy's lab, she let out a string of curses, causing him to blink.
"I never thought that was possible." he said, referring to her curses. His eyes sharpened when he saw the bullet wounds, and snapped his fingers once, which opened a small door and four women with cat ears and tails walked out with a bunch of nasty looking medicine. "Oh dear..." he started.
"Hold it. Your creatures alive, and I'm still living..." she looked away and let out a very loud curse when she feld the antiseptic being applied to her wound. "You'd think that you of all people would be able to create some sort of way to heal without being hurt..." she muttered.
"I could always play with your genes."
"Oh hoh, no way." she grimaced. "I'm never letting anyone touch my genes." she swore once more, then glared as she watched the cat women walk off. "I know whats wrong Shy... I can't work by myself any more... the people you send with me aren't good enough... I need a partner who knows my moves well enough to keep up with me... but one who doesn't take orders so well..." she grimaced. "Plus, one who can take charge for once... what is wrong with all of your creatures?!"
Shy chuckled at this. "Come, we could always create a clone of you." his eyes gleamed as he said that.
Xira snarled and got up from the chair. "I told you! Ever since they sent over that so called movie Six Days from Earth, I've been having phobias!" her eyes narrowed. "You wouldn't do it without my permission, would you?"
Shy laughed at this. "Of course I would!" he said, then grinned. "Well then, I'm afraid theres only one thing you can do." he said softly.
"Whats that?"
"Get yourself some sort of bond mate."
Xira sat in the cavern, a troubled expression on her face. "Now you see my problem?" she asked, yet not really expecting an answer. "What sort of creature would fit the bill?"
Xira... did you ever realise that our names sound the same? Xena and Xira...
"Xe', your not listening again."
I am... which is why I think that a dragon would be perfect for you... you should become a rider Xira, I heard there is a clutch on the sands, why don't you apply for a candidate position?. Xe' seemed to laugh. No one should ever misjudge my choices, so you'll have to become a candidate...
