Nalor's Fall 5 : Serpent Hunter
Sth'kara had wordlessly accepted the new arrivals and the coversation, even though she knew any moment they'd be in the vicinity of the enemy and distractions of any sort were majorly deadly. She frowned to herself, but kept back comments.
They broke through a cloud layer and Sth'kara stopped in midair, so abruptly that her occupants nearly were hurled away. She whispered an excuse and looked up, hovering where she was, wings, silently almost, beating air.
Before them sparkled Nalor, the Ice Sphere. 'I wonder why it isn't Orunor or Laror... but then again, Nalor sounds better.' she said, grasped by the sparkle for a moment.
Then she frowned. 'Ick.'
Along the sides frothed a black mass of tiny shapes, like ants, writing over the perfect surface. Nalor bled demons.
She frowned again.
"You people behind me still up to this?" she frowned.

Zalkava opened her eyes, only to meet Rth'serat's snout. She yelped a short note and yelped again as he set a strong paw onto her wrist. It let go the next second and he drew back, looking startled.
She drew herself into a sitting position, panting. Gods, that had scared her. A lot. But there was no reason. The Kanians were not here, and Kanus wasn't, and there just was no reason... she stopped her thought chain, feeling her heart race.
"Pardon." the other excused. "I'm not your enemy, sorry. I didn't want to scare you."
"O... overreaction." she finally explained, forcing a smile and shoving herself up. Behind the other was a smaller dragoness, also silver. Dragons. Wait. She'd not wanted to go here with the portal. Where was Eli and As... she stopped again. Had FireGem dragged her to Crystal Planet? But they had no manes...
She blinked.
"What're you?" she finally asked.
"I am Rth'serat, this is Katyrrinha." he motioned to the other silver, who slowly inclined her head in an unsure, polite gesture.
Rth'serat...? It rang no bell, but she knew how it was spelled, though she had expected not to. Faintly, she knew it was the type of names given to a race... where? On what side had they once fought? Was it really important?
"I am Zalkava." she said, almost stammering. At the same time, she wondered if he'd seen her question as 'who' and not 'what', but that was no longer important. The species name would not hep her, she knew.
Katyrrinha shifted. "Hello Zalkava. You're nothing I've seen before... not from here?"
She shook her head slowly.
"Alright." Katy paused. "There's a war here now, so I suggest you find some shelter."
Rth'serat nodded at Zalkava, who frowned. Wars here, wars there. Why couldn't it stop? What forced the world to be so cruel? She frowned a bit more, then shook her snout to get rid of it.
"Who's leading the enemy?" she asked, not sure why she was asking that. Not sure at all, to that matter. It disturbed her, but all these things were busy being so vague she did not know reasons for her own questions. Deeply bothering.
"Seth." was the monosyllabellic answer.
Somehow, something flickered through her shape. That name... she was aware her memory was going loony. But she knew it. All too well. Terror was locked in the same drawer. But why did she have no image or other name there, not now?

Matja'ar skidded to a halt, panting. Seth hadn't followed. He'd not been bugged, either. Slowly his scales faded to a pure silver again and he let himself drop to the ground.
He flicked a claw and a portal-like something appeared. He rasped into it: "Mat'jara reporting." A pause, then he smiled a bit. "We're in major trouble."
Mth'nian shimmered into view a short while after the connection was shut. His scales hinted grey-white, pale a bit. "Seth?"
"Is after me. So either you people go and abandon me or you'll be in bigger trouble." he weakly smiled, trying to joke. He paused, but no reply came, not yet. He nodded his snout. "Ah... well, maybe it's good. Get her somewhere safe, alright? Hows the others?"
"Alright."
"I can distract Seth for a long enough time to..."
A snarl.
Mth'nian snapped his snout up.
A blue dragon, wingtips shimmering with an evil aura, stood smirking. "Where is she?" he narrowed his eyes.
"Seth!" Mth'nian beared his teeth, growling.
"Yes. We've met." he nodded, unimpressed.
Mth'nian shifted out of view, as did Mat'jara.
Seth frowned. What idiots. He closed his eyes, the next moment revealed the two shimmering, but not quite there and frozen in place. "You want to mess with me? Now, before I send you through a session of pain, you might want to tell me." he nodded. "For I won't make it easy and read your mind."
Mth'nian inwardly cursed, but remained silent.
