Blue Moon Nalor's Fall 2 : Waking |
||||
Sth'kara inwardly trembled. "But..." she began, then pursed her lips. She paused a moment, not muving anything but her flicking tail. Her nostrils flared slightly each time she took a breath. Silently, she thought about a few things. "And if they come here afterwards? If they shatter Nalor and come to get the rest of the Fire Sphere?" she asked, calmly, inwardly no longer too struck. * Katy' watched the fight from afar, resisting all urges to charge back in and fight, at least die having tried. The other was doing a good job helping her by gripping her shoulder each time she twitched into the general direction of the rip. The sound of clashing claws, hisses, shrieks and angry calls here and there all rolled into a big wave of noise that whafted over both, somewhat like a waterfall in the end, but an evil waterfall. Katy' supressed a shiver. Finally, she managed to break her gaze from the bleeding hull and blinked into that of the other's. "And your name is?" she asked, timidly almost, voice cracking ever so slightly, mirroring her helplessness in the case. "Evarind." this one nodded his snout. "Though that is not what I call myself. I am Rth'serat." Katy was baffled and for a moment had noidea how to spell such a name. The pronounciation was rather clear, slightly growled. "Where... where are you from?" she stammered. "Felis." Rth'serat smiled. "Continent of Bahrtheqa." Katy' fell silent. She had never heard of this place. Where was it? Where was Felis? Was it a star? Was it a structure of smaller continents no one on Blue Moon had ever found? Rth'serat, though obviously sensing her questions, did not bother to answer them without being asked. And she honestly was not able to gather enough willpower to do so. "Sth'kara, Mth'nian, Kth'rajinar, Mat'jara and me - I think we're the only that came here from Felis." Rth'serat nodded his snout. "I lost contact to Meth, Kith and Matt. Sith's down by Kyor as far as I know." Slowly Katyrrinha nodded. There was an earpiercing shriek and a large bird with metal feathers flashed into view before them. It was headed right at them! She let out a strangeled yelp even as Rth'serat darted out before her, tracing a symbolic rune into the air in a split second, sending a blast of compressed air into the metal bird which shrieked, enraged, and flew a couple of hundred meters without wanting to, till it thudded softly into a housewall. A crack spread on the wall, but it remained a crack and no more. Getting up, the bird opened it's eyes, a piercing red gleam, certainly not biological. And suddenly it was gone. Rth'serat followed something with his eyes, growled, backing a bit and latching a paw onto Katy's wrist, dragging her with. "Wha...?!" she stammered, taken by surprise. "Shush." he growled briefly, eyes still fixed on the nothingness before them. Katy's gaze sweeped over the area, frantically almost. It struck her like a ton of bricks and she whined softly. "Where... where is it?" she whispered, voice high and panicy. No answer. Rth'serat seemed to be able to see it. She wasn't sure how, why, where, or when... wait, scratch the last question. She yanked lose and backed away further than he was. Even as she did, his shape began to turn mildly transparent. She could see contours not his shimmer through his shape. "Run, Katy!" he snapped at air, then suddenly something hit him and he slithered across the ground, a red streak now adorning his snout. "RUN, DAMNIT!" he yelled, sketched another rune and she could briefly see outlines of the creature as it was pushed back, but the spell had amazingly little effect this time. In horror she realized it was a good adapter. She whimpered. And then she did as told, even before Rth'serat repeated his request. 'Damn it all to hell.' she inwardly cursed. |
