Dawn of a war
"Ssst."
Cehrakarra snapped her snout up, blinking towards the sound. Moving around Lossos was rather new to her, but the voice had been known... she was sure of that. "Mom?!" she squealed, happily.
The bushes shifted and black scales appeared. An amber gaze latched itself onto Sara. "Shht. Not so loud... I think Mistella might be around." Py shuddered briefly.
"Why that bad?" Sara tilted her blueish snout. Nevertheless, her mom had this hang of being right, so she lowered the tone of her voice. "Better?"
"Yes, dal'." Py grinned, but still did not emerge fully. "Come over here?" she asked, softly, eyes alertly searching the area. Something truely bothered mom. Obidiently the small BornPyre trotted closer, curious to hear why mom was so frightened, which she was sure she would be informed about.
There was a white flash of scales, a searing, short pain that vanished as quickly as it appeared - it may have been illusionary - and Sara gasped briefly in surprise. She blinked, feeling she had to clear her vision.
Py stepped out next to Icy, wincing softly. Sara tilted her snout, feeling anger build in her as she realized there was a rather stable coldaquafire-psy mixture. She ran her juvenile paws along it, mind racing even as the anger about that her mother was letting this being done to her grew. "Mom... let me out?" she asked, backstepping to look at the white and the black creature, fighting back tears of helplessness. She was no wuzz.
Py sighed softly, as if struck by something. For a moment, Sara regretted her words. It seemed her mother fought with the same tears. But then, why...? "Mom..." Sara wailed softly. "What's going on... LET ME OUT!" she cried, shifting her weight nervously and almost tripping ove her own feet.
FireClaw gazed upon Sara's azure eyes and formed a thin line with her reptilian lips. "Dal', I'm sorry... you'll be alright... I swear. Mom promises, alright, sweetheart?"
"Let me ouuuuuut!" Cehrakarra wailed, clenching her tiny paws to little blue black fits. She opened her mouth and shrieked, a fearstruck sound, highpitched and wailed, but incredibly loud, accompanied by an amazingly strong psychic blast. FireClaw reeled, stumbled and fell on her side, trying to answer the cry with one of her own, clutching her head. Zalkava stood, wavering briefly, but her mind had been trained to withstand psychic blows. The mere fact she had responded at all meant it had been incredibly strong. ZaL added a wince and frowned. "We make a psychic-magic shield and your kid just blasts right through it... majorly scanned." ZaL grumbled, helping Py up.
Cehrakarra wailed again, without the psi cry.
Py gathered herself, then knelt beside the blue-white-transparent orb and hugged it, not able to actually hug the child. "Shht... I promise you'll be okay. I promise. Please trust mommy... please..." Py asked.
Cehrakarra heard it, but did not listen. Instead, she unclenched her fists and slammed both paws against the side of her round cage, crying softly. It didn't even budge, so she repeated the whole thing with a bit more force.
FireClaw backstepped and looked away. "There. I did my part, Zalkava. Now please... excuse me." she sniffed, wiped her snout with a paw and trotted away, unable to bear it.
"Hey, hey!" the Aquapyre called. "Stay right here! I still need you, Py!" she cried, in vain. Her white snout swirveled to the BornPyre, started to say something, then she shook it and looked back to Py, as if to run after her. Then she threw away that plan aswell and growled softly.
By now Cehrakarra had ceased to bang the wall monotonously, but silently cried, diamond tears dripping from her ebony and sapphire snout, clear and bright blue eyes looking dull and lifeless. "Mom... just left me..." she whimpered softly.
Zalkava now knelt down. "No, Sara." she shook her pale snout. "She didn't."
"YES SHE DID!" the little one sobbed, pointing to the distance.
"No." ZaL calmly countered. "Your mom loves you deeply, see? She can't see you like this. But she also knows you're safe. Otherwise she'd never leave you here with me." she soothed.
"Who... who are you, anyways?" the little one pouted.
"My name's ZaL for friends, whom I hope you'll belong to too. IceSheath or Zalkava formally, I guess, if you need to know." ZaL smiled.
"Can you let me out now?" she pouted.
"No... Mistella's pretty good at tracking psy waves from BornPyre's. And as long as you don't give me another headache..." - she winked - ".. you shouldn't be found."
"But Mistella's a nice lady?"
"Yes, to you. Not to your mom. You see, if she catches us trying to gather your and your sis'es and bro's, then she might kill your mommy... including daddy and their kin."
"You're kidding." the little one was enawed.
"Sadly, I'm afraid I'm not..." ZaL sighed. "Do you know where Valcunekii, KyT and the other ZaL are? As in, Zalekii?"
"Who's Zalekii?"
"Err... the others?" ZaL blinked. Py'd informed her that Zalekii hadn't been around much lately, maybe even gone off into the world somewhere, for no one'd seen her, but yet...
"I dunno." Sara shrugged softly, wiping away a last persistant tear. "Should be around Kananjoty."
Icy supressed a curse and smiled. "Alright. I'm going to leave you here now, but don't worry. There sphere has more powers than you think..."
With that, the aquapyre vanished.
