INTERLUDES by THE 25th CENTURY RAPTORESS |

Kananjoty The Snow And The Ice |
||||
A shape flickered into view above Kananjoty grounds. SnowClaw gazed around. "Thakiva?" his cry had a desperate touch. A soft whimper was heard from the far side of the currently deserted artificial hell. SnowClaw's shape flickered again and reappeared by a barely breathing MoonScale. "KiV..." he placed a paw on her shivering shoulder. "Go away." she weakly protested. "Leave me be." - "KiV, t's'me." he tried. "Flierraptr - SnowClaw." She looked up and he was shocked to see her empty, tortured eyes. "Oh. You." she croaked, without even a hint of enthusiasm. "KiV, what happened?" SnowClaw was honoring his name, his snout paling. "What did they do to you?" - "Oh." she said again, seemingly mildly surprised someone would care. "Nothing much. Torture, Rape and so on. Why?" He hated the soundlessness of her voice. He hated himself for not attempting to rescue her this way earlier. He hated himself for being a chicken more than he hated the Kanians that had comitted these crimes. He cringed. "Why?" she repeated, voice cold, calculating, judging and still heavy with pain. Silence still enveloped him. A pause. "Tell me now, may I hate you?" Aquapyre Three asked the first. SnowClaw suddenly recognized the feeling that was not permitting him to speak - not pity, not sorrow, not hate - but pure, stingingly just guilt. He hung his head in a weak nod. "Yes." he whispered, voice less defined than that of the captive. He cleared his throat, daring to look at those empty eyes a second again, Whilst it shocked him again, it pushed away other feelings long enough to permitt him to speak again. "Yes, you may hate me." he nodded. "Ah, that's all you come for, then? Do you enjoy to note that they captured me instead of your coward hide?" she hissed, mercilessly, yet in her eyes was a glint of something - tears. He backed away. He failed to cope with these strong words. They seeped through him without leaving any trace of a meaning. "Do you?" she sobbed, now. The sound whafted him with pity and sorrow for her. "I ... no." he finally uttered, although he was not all too sure to what he had answered. It seemed all so unreal. His shape, held upright by concentration, flickered dangerously. He forced himself back to this world. "Ah." she snorted and averting her gaze sent a single tear, glittering like diamond, through the warm air of Kananjoty. It was too much. Whilst it was only one word, it said it all, expressing her understanding and belief, but it also revealed she hated him for a deeper reason. "I... will try to get you out!" he hurridly said. "I'll be fine here." she lied, tears still streaking her cheeks and snout. "Go along now. Wouldn't want anything to happen to you. And, no..." - she interrupted him as he tried to protest, raising a paw - "...I will be in better hands here than around you, I suppose." It struck him hard. Letting out a loud, pityful and terrified wail, SnowClaw backed away more. She had fallen quiet, doing no more than latching her pain wrecked gaze onto him, nailing him. His rigid raptorian tail hit the wall behind him. His shape vanished, fleeing, fleeing like he had from his duties, passing them on, fleeing as he had from his homeworld... She stared at the wall where he had been for quite a while still, an awefully bitter taste aligning her mouth, feeling like a sharp needle in the back of her throat everytime she swallowed. Her mind felt incredibly empty although she had an illusion of thinking much and hard. And then she sobbed. |
