Return
A scream tore through the void's mass, nearly making it's consistancy ripple in strain... and the scream held on. Squeezing her eyes shut tightly, a blue shape was shimmering into view, neck arched back and muzzle opened to emit the highpitched sound.
Another shape, twitching and much less in pain, but still visibly containing a protest of the same sort, was just next to her, curled up even as she stopped the sound and her shape was seized by a shudder. Slowly she reverted back to breathing - or rather, panting.
"Si... Sinithij, are you ... alright?" the other shape said, still through clenched teeth.
No answer. Sinithij hung in mid-void, eyes empty, only her chest's heaving a sign of life.
"ToQ?" Anekilos shuddered again. "Say something."
"Shut up, KrA." the blue shivered, barely able to stammer that brief and hacked sentance. "Don't..." she started.
His head throbbed as he waited, silently, for her to finish her sentance, her suspended in silence once more. 'She must be in terrible pain...' he realised. 'The negative aspects of having such a strong link.'
"... remind me of that place." she finished in one breath, then fell totally silent. It had been said as if it were a relief.
'A relief, yes.' Anekilos noticed. 'Relief for the sentance to be done. Not the contents spoken...' he winced. He was becoming accustomed to the pain. It stopped hurting, but was present. 'Pain that does not hurt.' he told himself, managing a weak smile.
Sinithij rolled over to a side - if this could be seem as rolled. The awkward movement twisted her into another angle a bit, and she saw the horizon. Her snout was pale, even though she had no words to speak.
The former-red and now once more lime looked into the same direction. He felt cold as he finally saw the surroundings. Strange how he had seen it all this time, but had to look off into the distance to actually ... see.
The navy background, or what seemed navy, since it colorcycled in more than one way. Hard to define precisely how, and it seemed to have a base color of navy... Slashed through this sphere that hugged his field of view was a bright aqua line, slowly fading to the navy at the edges, but it was definately the horizon.
The question now was where up and down was?
"This... be the void..." Sinithij struggled not to cry or break into sobs. "Oh gods... no..." She shivered violently for a few moments, till Anekilos placed a paw on her shape. "Shh. Calm down." he soothed. Almost surprisingly he noticed there was still pain. But it was dull... throbbing more than cutting as it had. It stopped bothering him.
"I... I did this..." she stammered. And broke into sobs despite her attempts to strangle it. "I! LOOK WHAT I HAVE DONE!!" she called out, face a mirror of her shattered soul.
"No!" Anekilos let go and floated away a foot. "No! IT WASN'T YOU!" he tried, frantically.
"YES! I COULDN'T STOP THIS!" she sobbed. "I'm a failure... I..." her words traced into nothingness. "Sinithij... Sini', come on, shht." Anekilos attempted, once more floating close and laying an arm around her. He felt her scales sudder. 'This poor girl...' he thought.
"Unfair..." she whispered.
