POEMS of
THE 25th CENTURY RAPTORESS
Steel Truths
Tan Desertscape,
Emerald Forest,
So was this world before.
Hunted, Hunter,
Death and Life,
So was this world before.

Hunters died,
For there were now new,
Balance slowly lost itself,
And the god watched.

Watched as the new slayed,
The new hunted,
The new killed,
The new slaughtered.

"This may not be."
So said Shrykull,
Went to trek across the land,
Went to stop the ignorant.

Silver were the trees,
Neon the leaves,
Creatures lacking freedom,
Hurt his soul...

When in darkness was the moon,
And a howl tore through the lands,
Shrykull was felled,
Killed by steel claw.

Defeated, hurt, in pain,
The great god drew,
Far from his opponents,
Dwarfed by the power...

Honourless.

Giving powers unspoken of to a young lad born,
He would wait, wait for time to come,
For the one to grow,
To learn,
To help regrow,
What was slain by steel claw.

Ripped across the land he saw,
The silver creature grew,
Time was not coming soon enough,
But why? What had gone wrong?

A spark of hope sparked at the border,
Young was grown,
Fled with others,
Back home.

But where was home?
Destroyed and bleak,
Shining as if lifeless,
Few survived so long.

Chosen's name was Abe,
He learned to revive what was lost,
Soon Shrykull returned,
To what was once his.

Anger unleashed,
Mercy was not his,
For those who had lacked respect,
Still did.

Bleed did the silver,
Bled black blood,
Burned neon fire,
Pained by the scratch.

Once more did Shrykull retreat,
Time was not yet ripe.
But with patience, so he knew,
Revenge would soon triumpf.
