| You know those "about me" emails people send? I never have time to put in my answers and send them back. (Why do I have so many friends with so much free time?) Here's an appropriate forum for my response: the uninspired "about me" section of my webpage. (I was wondering what the heck to put on here.) BIRTHDAY: December 13 ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: saggitarius, gemini rising BIRTHPLACE: Boston MA HOME: Boston MA JOB: scientist at MIT RELIGION: agnostic HAVE ANY PETS? : the dustbunnies that live under my bed HAVE ANY CHILDREN? : no ARE/WERE YOU MARRIED? : never HAVE YOU BEEN IN LOVE? : yes DO YOU KNOW ANY OTHER LANGUAGES: yes, French HAVE ANY COLLECTIONS? : postcards, coins, stamps, neat pens, T-passes, aforementioned dustbunnies BEST ADVICE: "If you are never uncomfortable during your education, you're not getting an education." (Professor J.R.Stilgoe said this to me.) AND "Always carry an extra pair of underwear" (- my mother) SILLIEST THING YOU'VE DONE: Oh, there are so many.... how about dressing up as a ketchup bottle. SCARIEST THING YOU'VE DONE: watching my little brother fall head first off the top of a jungle gym DUMBEST THING YOU'VE DONE: flunking out of high school PROUDEST THING YOU'VE DONE: buying my mother a nice, new car MOST DISGUSTING HABIT: sucking ketchup directly out of the packet FAVORITE COLOR: green FAVORITE FOOD: ketchup, of course FAVORITE DAY OF THE WEEK: Monday or Saturday FAVORITE MONTH: something summery like August FAVORITE HOLIDAY: 4th of July or Christmas FAVORITE TYPE OF MUSIC: I love classical orchestral and chamber music, a lot of jazz, non-80's rock, some opera, and some R&B FAVORITE TV SHOW: I don't have TV but I occasionally watch The Simpsons FAVORITE MOVIE: I don't watch movies. FAVORITE ACTOR/ACTRESS: don't have any FAVORITE MAGAZINE: National Geographic, Smithsonian, or Adbusters, depending on my mood FAVORITE FICTION AUTHOR: I have so many "favorites." I like everything from W. Faulkner to J. Austen, J.Conrad, F.Dostoyevsky, N.Katzanzakis, A.Roy, A.Walker, J.Thurber, H.Hesse, W.Shakespeare....etc.... SPECIAL SKILLS/TALENTS: My "special" social skills are being incredibly blunt and making long, long, long digressions. I'm also ambidextrous, a 15th generation American, and have no sense of smell.
