Sspirit's Story |
I was there in the beginning of time. I floated with my brothers in the void for a timeless period until the Maker brought about the creation of the universe as you mortals experience it now. That is when my current adventure began. At one time or another, I have had many forms. For a time I was a bright blue sun, shining brightly on seven small planets that were born in the dust of creation and died in the fires of my own ending. I was the frozen heart of a comet, touring through the vastness of space, only to end in a bright flash in the skies of this planet. I abided for a time as water in the seas of this world, flowing about the life both of animal and vegetable, thriving, living and dying about me. Then one day while a young prince bathed in the waters of a river inlet, I decided to become a part of him, slipping as a few drops of water between his lips as he drank. I was overwhelmed by this humans vast and conflicting array of emotions and thoughts, and stayed with him throughout his rise to power and kingship, and eventual death, then I slipped from his dying grasp to his scepter. I stayed here for quite some time, learning, observing, and making as it suited my own purpose. Through twenty seven generations I stayed here. The many different personalities that welded my vessel were as different as night is to day, from the child ruler that was flawed from birth with a heart so black, he had his own father assassinated at the age of six and took his own mother of queen's right and bride, to the essentially pure heart of the Prince King who lived her life as a man and ruled with kindness and mercy at the death of her twin brother, the rightful heir to that throne. I finally tired of court intrigues and one day, while walking in the forest, I made my vessel be laid aside against a tree while my current wielder had his way with a peasant girl, and I slipped into a great oak tree, where I abided in peace for many years, only to be awakened from my slumber and contemplation be my harvesting, to become a timber in a simple peasants hut. Here I stayed and strangely, I was happy, if an elemental can fully feel that emotion, I lived with and made with these simple folks, feeling a part of a family, not merely housing myself for once. My happiness was broken finally one evening as a clutch of twelve wizards entered the simple hut and slew the entire family and burned the hut to the ground. In the act of slaying a virginal child and colledting its blood, a bronze sword was stabbed deep into my wooden vessel, and I slipped into this bronze, magic infused sword. This sword belonged to the master of the wizards, and I soon learned of the presence and existence of demons, for there was one that was he familiar of this wizard, and it influenced and guided this group through its own evil pathways. Ah, what arrogance and hatred of everything including its own pitiful existence this deman possedssed and I delighted in making mischief for it. Making at just the right time to ruin any plans the demon or his minions would plan, until finally I drove the creature to its own demise through madness. The clutch of wizards were lost without their God's guidance, and when they happened to have a young virginal girl stumbled into their midst while performing a ceremony in hopes of attracting a new demon to use in their mischief, they slew her on the spot, spilling her blood with my own vessel and letting it waste on the ground and stone altar. Here I came to Paint. He was human, and I came to know, the girls lover, and he burst into this scene bare handed, slaying two of the evil wizards as they flocked upon him, and stabbing me deep into his breast, where a small sliver of the bronze sword, still magical, though smaller now, and me, lodged in his heart. I was then given more magic powers yet again be an angel in the guise of the girls cousin, sent to protect this family as she attempted to save the life of this man, but alas, she stopped the wound from killing him, but was not able to heal the wound of the horrible adventure. This was a unique experience for me even, as I was able to abide in the small sliver, and also as a part of the man. I felt, saw, and tasted all. His misery drove him mad for awhile and he took to drinking, only to be drive away all that he had once cared about, until he was again enchanted and form changed into the body of a horse after stealing from a witch. I abide here awhile, appearing and 'making' as I see fit, appearing to Paint in his dreams as a ghostly white owl. Beware of me, I am neither good or evil, my intentions are my own and only known to me. I am Sspirit Elemental. |
