Dreams

What are dreams? Every night we seem to experience them but what are they really? Do they actually hold significance to them or are they just a part of your imagination running wild? Dreams are a made from a part of our unconsciousness that reveals many parts of your daily thoughts or issues present in everyday life that you may not even realize is there. You can either let your dreams be just that, you're dreams, or you can find a deeper meaning for them by analyzing them.

Most dreams have symbolism in them in which there is a main symbol or item displayed during the dream which holds a meaning. Symbols in these dreams could be colors, numbers, animals, or many other things like this. To help for someone to analyze your dream it is important to be able to pick out the main symbols in your dream and look at how they pertain to your life. The loss of teeth means the feeling of helplessness which could be different. There's a good chance that the girl who has this dream feels like there issomething in her life that she has no control over, such as her grades or her friends. Nightmares

We have all had nightmares before, especially as children or when you're really stressed out. A nightmare is a very distressing dream, which usually forces at least partial awakening. The dreamer may feel any number of disturbing emotions in a nightmare, such as anger, guilt, sadness or depression, but the most common feelings are fear and anxiety. What makes a nightmare not a dream is that the dreamer is often scared and in many aspects wishes that the dream wouldn't be happening. Nightmare themes may vary widely from person to person and from time to time for any one person meaning that there is no set time for when one will get them or even what they will be about. Probably the most common theme is being chased. Adults are commonly chased by an unknown male figure whereas an animal or some fantasy figure commonly chases children. Nightmares can be especially frightening when they seem realistic but everyone gets them at one point or another.

There are also something called Night Terrors which are something quite different. Nightmares tend to occur after several hours of sleep, screaming or moving about is very uncommon, the dream is usually elaborate and intense, and the dreamer realizes soon after wakening that he or she has had a dream. On the other hand, night terrors occur during the first hour or two of sleep, loud screaming and thrashing about are common by the sleeper and it is hard to awaken the person from the dream. The dreamer usually remembers no more than an overwhelming feeling or a single scene, if anything at all. Nightmares and night terrors arise from different physiological stages of sleep. Children who have night terrors also may have a tendency to sleepwalk. The causes of night terrors are not well understood. A consultation with a physician may be useful if the night terrors are frequent or especially disturbing.
