The paladin took off one of her gloves and laid a gentle hand on Thalys’ chest.  Her hand began to glow a soft hue of light.  “Tell my other two friends to come in here.”  She said, still trying to heal Thalys.
Faux and Ezekiel came into the room in a matter of seconds.  “What is going on?” Ezekiel asked.
“Faux, get over here and use some of your healing magic.” Kara said.
Without question, Faux walked over to the bed and began using soothing water magic to heal some of Thalys’ many wounds.  In a matter of minutes, he had no wounds to be seen, and he was breathing normally again.
“Oh, you all must be adepts!” Claude said excitedly.
“That we are.” Ezekiel said as Kara and Faux left the house where Thalys was asleep.
“He should wake up in a few hours.” Kara assured a man as she slipped her glove back on.  She turned to Faux and Ezekiel and said, “Come on.  Let’s keep going.”
“But, aren’t you going to wait till that guy wakes up and ask your question?” Faux asked.
Kara smiled as she readied Schiroi, “I already got my answer…”
Faux looked at Ezekiel to see if he understood, but the big man merely shrugged.
So the three of them set out, continuing their march westward.

Thalys woke up feeling great.  He sat up and looked around, finding himself in one of the townsfolk’s bedroom.
“Oh, good to see you awake.” a woman said as she walked into the room.
“What the…” Thalys began to ask.
“You know…you’re a lucky man.  If that paladin of Kaith hadn’t come through here when she did, then you’d be gone from this world.” the woman interrupted.
“Paladin of Kaith?  Was she from Rullenfay?” Thalys asked.
“Aye, that she was.  She came here with two friends just as we pulled ye out of the windmill.  What a mess you made!  The whole thing is ruined now.  No sign of that fellow, though.  He just vanished.” the woman said with a laugh.
Thalys couldn’t help but laugh.  “So, they were following me, eh?” he said to himself, hardly concerned about that thing.  He slipped out of the bed and looked around.  “Where is my stuff?”
The woman pointed to the table in the center of the room.  “We managed to get as much as we could, but we had to break one of your gauntlets to free your arm.  Also, we searched for pieces of your cloak so we could sow it back together, but whatever that fabric is, it wouldn’t take a needle!”
Thalys nodded his head.  “It is a cloak imbued with magic to make it extra fortifying.  A simple needle won’t penetrate it.” He explained as he looked through his things.
He slipped on his armor, excluding his right gauntlet and his belts.  He dug in his pack until he found spare straps of leather.  He looked at his smashed right gauntlet and smiled.  Ruined, but still salvageable.
Thalys took the largest plate of the gauntlet off the rest.  Then he took the glove part of the gauntlet and slipped it on.  After that, he took the smaller of the two torn pieces of his cloak they found and wrapped it around his arm.  Next, he laid the plate of metal on his forearm, then took the straps of leather and tied the piece down.  He shook his arm and smiled.  “That will do.  I can still move my hand good, and it still gives some protection.” He said to himself.
Finally, Thalys wrapped the remaining piece of cloak and wrapped it around his waist, followed by putting his belts on to keep it secure.  Finally with all of his armor on, he slipped on what remained of his cloak and scarf.  With a nod of appreciation to the woman, he slipped his sheathed sabers in his belt and picked up his pack.
“I best be leaving now.  Do you think I could get some supplies before I go?” Thalys asked.
“We’ve already prepared you some.” the woman said with a smile as she pointed to the main room.
Thalys found Penn in the other room.
“Ah, already leaving are you?” the man asked.
“Yeah, sorry for all the trouble I caused.  If you’d like…I can have some builders from Maeltryst come and fix up the windmill.” Thalys said, picking up the bag of supplies on the nearby table.
“Oh no.  You don’t have to do tha…” Penn began to say, but Thalys interrupted him.
“No, I insist.  I’ll write a note explaining everything and all you have to do is send a messenger to Maeltryst.  I’d go myself…but I am kind of on a ‘mission’, so to say.” Thalys said, producing a piece of stationary and a pen from his pack.  After he was finished with the note, he handed it to Penn.  “There, that should do it.”
“Thank you so much, Thalys…but why are you doing so much for us when all we did for you was give you a bag of supplies?” Penn asked.
“Well, it is kind of my fault that the entire windmill was crashed apart.” Thalys said sheepishly.  “It is the least I can do.”
Penn laughed and tapped Thalys’ shoulder.  “You’re a good man, Thalys.”
“Thank you, sir.  I like to think myself that way.” Thalys said.  “Good day to you, Penn.”  With that, he was off, heading westward.
