Kara’s parents, Daken and Ryllia, were poor farmers who grew crops to be sold in the town square. Kara’s parents, being poor, left her at the Holy Order Cathedral in the capitol city of Rullenfay, hoping that they could provide a better life for her. She was raised by the priests as their own daughter and was told that her parents were dead. Kara grew older and acquired an admiration for the priests who had taken care of her, and eventually joined in on their studies. When Kara was twelve, Farther Kalear took Kara under his wing and taught her everything he knew about the Holy Order of Kaith, their ruling deity. She trained vigorously every single day. She eventually read every book contained in the monastery. One day, the cathedral came under attack by foolish bandits. Several of the clergy members became hostages and some were even killed. Kara, fearing for the safety of her elders, rushed in and destroyed every last bandit single handedly. Father Kalear watched Kara fight the mass of men. He noticed her body start to glow with a bright light, and that’s when he knew it was time. After that, the Father gave Kara an armored suit. He said that it was made out of a rare ivory metal that was forged by Kaith thousands of years ago, and it was only to be worn by the “Guardian of Light”. That “guardian” was Kara. Father Kalear told her one last bit of information, that her parents were still alive. That was all Kara needed, the next day she set off to find out about her past as the “Guardian of Light”. Just before he left, however, word came to the kingdom of the return of the legendary “Adept’s Stone” and how it was stolen by a guild of thieves. Intent on bringing justice to the guild and save the world from the horrible power of the stone, Kara enlisted the help of her trusted friend Faux, a mysterious rogue of the water element she met many years before. The two set out on a new quest, with Faux’s promise to help her find her ancient past after the stone was recovered. |
