Before the events in which Voyse found the adept’s stone and the Void army began to rise. All the Kingdoms of the elements lived in peace. There was tension growing between Kalcoon the Air Kingdom on the west and Altem Tier the Air Kingdom in the east of the Liteo Mountains. These two kingdoms had always gotten along until small trading disputes erupted into full-scale battles. A war was on the verge of starting and there was a certain individual who still lived in the Cloud City. A man with Blackish Brown hair, a large Scarf, a Cloud city headband, and a Failyn family trademark steel-toed sandals emerged from a quite larger house. Most houses were partially underground so he walked up stairs to reach the main walkway. He had his large custom Katana and a small wakizashi in his hands, which he slipped into his belt. He was greeted by a voice yelling his name from a house or so down. A girl with long White hair with blackish highlights, she had no weapons and was obviously not a fighter. “Why are you in your military gear?” she asked when approached him. “There is a Royal Court meeting today, I’d say it’s about what actions will be done to Kalcoon. I want to attend it.” He said with a slight laugh. “Omurai…your not ranked high enough in the army to get into the Royal Court.” She told him bitterly. “Have you forgot? I am a nobleman. I can get in if I want. To think they didn’t tell me about this meeting. Good thing I found out, it’s like they didn’t want me to come!” Omurai said and laughed at himself. Omurai was just an ordinary soldier who had a slight rank over most commoners, but he was still more talented then most of his superior Captains. “Don’t worry Rinze, I can’t get kicked out of the Royal Court twice can I?” he added to her and walked off towards the Royal Castle. He made his way into the Castle and worked his way to a large room. The room was decorated with many swords and shields and was arranged with 2 rows of seats around a large center chair, which was for the King. He was allowed in but only because he was nobility. More Noblemen and high-ranking soldiers piled in and took seats. Omurai sat beside an older man who was in a large robe and to his other side was a high-ranking soldier. Soon a very low-pitched horn went off and everyone went quiet as the King and a few armored soldiers entered. “It seems as though the Kalcoon Army has again attacked another one of our trading convoys. They are also attacking any Cloud city outposts and claiming them for themselves. I have already sent out a full battalion of soldiers to stop any Kalcoon advances over the Liteo range.” The King said, but this king was not an old king he was roughly 35 or so. “We have planned a full scale attack on a large Kalcoon Outpost just West of here, this position is just over the Mountain Range and is vital to provided troops as they advance over the Range and have organized a new battalion to take care of this.” Said one of the soldiers near the King. “We will need a new Commander to take over this battalion.” Said another high-ranking Soldier who started rubbing his chin. “In my opinion there are two soldiers that come to mind for this Job. Garis Cord and Cass Valdez” said the same man. “Garis has already been assigned to the 2nd battalion, So I guess Cass would be the best choice for now.” King Failyn stated. A man beside the King who had light brown spiky white hair that came to a pony tail, and armor close to that of Omurai’s nudged the king and said “If I may put my opinion into this my king. I believe Omurai is ready to command a battalion.” He said softly enough so only a few could hear. Omurai did not hear what he said but saw a few people look at him and start laughing. “Omurai Failyn, please step forward.” Said the King in a voice that quieted everyone. Omurai got up and walked over to stand in front of the King. “Do to the large amount of support you have received from one of my best soldiers I put you as Commander of the 5th Battalion.” The king said and looked as though he regretted saying it. There was a large uproar and screams of disapproval from the Court. Cass Valdez stood up and walked up to the King. “My lord? What is the meaning of the injustice? Just because this little runt is related to you doesn’t mean that he can command a battalion? You cannot give him this position on nobility alone!” he said. Cass was a large man for a Wind adept, he was heavily armored and carried a long sword that was for some reason bend forwards slightly. “Cass, I agree he will need training as a commander but he will do fine.” King Failyn argued. “He doesn’t even have any battle skills! Look at him!” Cass said getting madder by the minute. “Enough…if you don’t like how things are then lets see who the real commander should be by settling this through Sol Tier.” Omurai said as he looked at Cass. Sol Tier is an ancient way the Wind adepts used to settle differences. They battled in a sacred arena in the highest Tower in all of Cloud city. Cass eagerly accepted the challenge and everyone stood up and made their way to the arena. Word spread quite fast of the challenge and soon all kinds of people showed up and crammed into the stadium. Omurai looked around as he stood on his side of the arena, he was obviously the underdog. Cass was a well-known man for his awesome display of applying gravity and wind to crush enemies. The same man that told King Failyn to appoint Omurai leaned over to the king and said. “You should have stopped them from this…he’s going to get embarrassed out there.” “Omurai will learn not to challenge superior officers in the military this way.” The king said. Every one of the high-ranking officers was present. Omurai again glimpsed around and saw Rinze who was in the front row waving madly. He gave a small wave and got into position to start the dual. Cass then got into position too. They turned their backs and stood hands to their sides. Then another low-pitched horn blew and they turned around. Omurai fired two small lightning shocks at Cass and pulled out his large katana. Cass dodged both of the shots and drew his long sword. They began exchanging sword strokes until Cass did a side slash and Omurai jumped over and slashed nearly hitting Cass. He stepped back and readied for an attack he then jumped and brought his sword down with extreme speed for his size and hit the ground causing a large wind tremor. Omurai dodged by jumping onto the wall that kept the audience from the arena. He did a Wind slash of his own which was Very Strong to every ones surprise. He landed and threw a couple of shurikens seemingly out of nowhere. Cass easily avoided but the shurikens were a distraction from the two large wind slashes Omurai performed after. Cass began to think Omurai wasn’t as easy as he thought. Cass backed near the wall decided he needed to get Omurai on the defensive, he began to emit large gusts at him. Omurai had really improved since the last time anyone saw his battles, it seems as though someone had been training him. “Alright Cass, I think its time we finish this.” Omurai said and touched the blade of his sword. A small electric charge began to emit from it and it was pulsing with electricity. Omurai then charged ready to swing his Electric Blade attack. Omurai swung and discharged all the electricity at Cass. The King turned and looked at the man who was dressed similar to Omurai. He gave a faint smile and nodded at the king to look at the battle. |
