Undaunted Courage is a book written
by Stephen Ambrose that retraces the steps of the Lewis and Clark expedition
at the beginning of the 1800s. It is an excellent book that paints
historical, exciting and dangerous times in the lives of the people who took
part. President Jefferson, as well as numerous scientists, scholars,
physicians and business men watched and waited to hear the outcome. You
might say they were Venturers in the sense of anticipating and experiencing
the same six focus areas of our crew: leadership, citizenship, service,
social, fitness and outdoors.
As we approach our planning for a new year, like Lewis & Clark, we need to
consider people who are interested in venturing. During the next month,
our crew recruitment will be vital to the success of focus. Participate and
act. Your reward will be new friendships and discoveries.
