Mom & Andy in the car Here we are in the back seat of Uncle Raymond & Auntie Giselle's car on the way to... I'll guess Niagra Falls. We did a TON of driving during that week. Ray & Giselle live in Barrie, ON, and they were absolutely wonderful hosts and tour guides as they took us all around and showed us the sights.

Raymond, Mom, and Andy under Niagra Falls If you've never thought of taking a trip to Niagra Falls, Ontario, Canada, please do so! This was one of the major highlights of my trip. I would go back in a second, really! The falls are mesmarising - almost hypnotic. We ventured on something called "Journey Behind the Falls" - a tunnel system that takes you far below the escarpment, below and behind the Canadian Horseshoe falls. The rumble of the falls is nearly deafening. The yellow jackets are a definite necessity!

The tunnels eventually lead you out here - the bottom of the falls. There's no such thing as dry down here! It's so beautiful and you feel as though you'll be crushed under the falls if you just stepped five feet further. It's so foggy and misty that your hair is dripping within seconds! Mom couldn't see through her glasses. Again, the noise is incredible and the ground is constantly trembling beneath the sheer force of these falls.

I've since found a live webcam of Niagra Falls, and a great site on interesting Falls Facts.
