Matt started making music in 1988, using a budget home keyboard and a double tape deck. In the years up to 1999 he recorded at least 16 hours of music on tape, a lot of which he still rates and revamps. Over those years an Amiga computer handled the bulk of the sequencing and sampling work. On a limited budget, Matt got hold of an old analogue keyboard with lots of knobs to twiddle, and various other pieces of equipment, more entertaining than particularly useful. In the last year or so he has acquired some interesting new equipment that has enabled him to improve the sound dramatically. One of these is a CD burner that has cut out the need for tape, greatly improving the sound quality. He can now provide a high quality recording for sale or promotion. Matt and Seamus (the other artist featured on Matmus) are friends, with a similar outlook on music making, usually as a solitary process. However, they have collaborated on a few tracks, and two of these are available in the downloads section (see "the rest..."). Matt lives in St. Austell, Cornwall.
