ACT III
PLACE
- PRESENT CHURCH
TIME
- SEPTEMBER 11TH, 1938
Characters
Rev. C. E. Doane, Minister
Sessions of the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church,
Vernon, New York
Elder Fred Smith, Clerk
First Presbyterian Church of Verona, New York
Elder Bert J. Dodge, Clerk
This act features the union of the two
Churches under the pastorate of Rev. Doane. For this there is rejoicing,
and a charge is given through the elders to the respective Churches. This concluded, the congregation,
together with the choir, are to join in singing as a Recessional, Hymn
333, "The Church's One Foundation Is Jesus Christ Her Lord." thus
projecting the Christian principle of the fellowship, where "One is our
Master – even Christ -- and all we are brethren."
--Matt. 23:8.
Then immediately follows the Candle Light feature
with "Blest Be The Tie That Blinds Our Hearts In Christian Love,"
followed by the Mizpah Benediction, after which we
are all to share in the breaking of the Birthday Cake, in which Mrs. Doane will be Mistress of Ceremonies, and thus will bring
the day to a happy close, and thanks is extended to all who helped to make it
so. "It has been good for us to be
here."
