HELLO: FROM REV. AND MRS. WEBER

Dear Friends:

Our lives since we left Verona have been very eventful.  We are getting accustomed to a very lazy routine, if you can call it routine at all:  We enjoy the location and our house, and the weather has been especially beautiful.  Our most extensive forays have been to visit my mother near Warsaw and to get to a doctor in Rochester, and, of course, Cecelia continues with her doctors in Syracuse.  We have been there three times since we moved.  Unfortunately, after her experience there, she is only to ready to head for home rather then drive to Verona, even tho’ it is only 30 miles from Syracuse.  From Hornell to Syracuse it is approximately 130 miles one way.

Our attempts at gardening this year are very meager indeed, consisting of six tomatoe plants and a very small group of flowers.  However, they get tender, loving care, and we hope to increase our efforts next year.

The neighbors are very friendly and have made every effort to welcome us to the area.

We have been typical laymen, almost church tramps:  We have attended five different churches since we have been here but probably will settle down in the First Presbyterian in Hornell.  I have had no opportunity nor inclination, as yet to participate in a church program.  I think I feel like some laymen feel – after all our visits to the churches not a single one has sent anyone to call on us.  The moral is: “Deacons, keep on your toes!”

We do hope we will have visitors from Verona.  We do get a bit lonely.  All of the people in the Park are from this area and have friends and relatives readily accessible.  We were very happy to have Mr. and Mrs. Roman and Mr. and Mrs. Burnett stop by, and Carolyn Vosbury will be visiting us Monday the 13th.

We hope everyone who reads the Newsletter is well and that church prospers.

                                                                                    Cordially,

                                                                                                            Cecelia and Cliff
