My Favourite Sites |
I have many hobbies and interests. There are many web sites on the Internet that complement these activities. Here are just a few:
- Marvel's X-Men Site: I collect X-Men comics passionately. Marvel.com has an excellent information page about these interesting characters.
- DC Comics: I also dabble in the DC universe, collecting such titles as 'Legion of Super-Heroes', 'Impulse', and 'Young Justice'. Once in a while, I'll pick up a 'Green Lantern' or a 'JLA'. The new 'Spectre' series is very interesting. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, the DC web site will tell you all you need to know.
- 3D graphics creation: I love to create 3D graphics on my computer. I have a few programs to help me out. This site is the community site for the modeling program I use - Strata 3D. The program is completely free; this is considered a ground-breaking development in 3D imaging. The site is very useful for 3D artists.
- Movies: If there's anything I do often, it's watching movies. When I want the schedules of the theatres in the Montreal region, I go to CinemaMontreal.com (linked above). This site is excellent: offering schedules, reviews, ratings, and trailers.
- Writing: My greatest obsession is writing. My only web-published work is posted at this archive. It's a Stargate SG-1 fanfic. The sequel is on its way.
I don't get to watch much TV anymore, but there are three shows I never miss:
- Buffy & Angel: Every Tuesday night, I record the TV shows 'Buffy: The Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel'. The Buffy web site covers mostly the Buffy series, but offers an email newsletter that covers both. The Buffy site uses web scripts to make a visit more fascinating.
- Stargate SG-1: This program is shown on Friday nights. I've been watching it since the very beginning. Stargate has such a large fan base online that the American network that shows it began 'Stargatesg-1.com', a kind of role-playing game for fans of the series. Visitors receive ranks, join teams, play training games, and chat with other fans. I don't visit as often as I used to, but I've already risen to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
