Roger's Poem

A friend tells a story,
Two little girls and their parents,
Went walking in the emerald evening.
Two little girls in red berets,
Red is what the moment demanded,
Red is what the universe demanded,
And they, in tune, agreed.
And they in turn demanded,
Universal concert for the moment,
The cosmic cosmopolitan smile.
At last, without releasing her father's grip,
One pirouetted to the right.
And the other in celestial sibling harmony,
She pirouetted to the left.
And my friend, taking all this in,
Forgetting years of constant conflict,
Punctuated by months of ennui,
Fell in love with life again.
