xxxMG Glenn K. Rieth, Congressman Frank LoBiondo, Richard Citron, Director of the VA Medical Center in Wilmington, and Mr. Mike Gonnella, Chief Executive Officer of the Kessler Memorial Hospital, announced last week that Southern New Jersey’s 95,000 veterans will be able to get federally funded medical care at Kessler Memorial Hospital under a new partnership between the hospital and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Previously, area residents had to travel to Philadelphia or Wilmington, Delaware for hospital care.

Under the agreement, the VA will reimburse Kessler for various services the hospital will provide to veterans, including inpatient stays, emergency care and stabilization, some gastroenterology procedures, dermatology, podiatry, and physical therapy.

An informational clinic has been scheduled for February 13th for veterans not currently enrolled in the veterans’ healthcare system. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Vineland Veterans Memorial Home, 524 Northwest Blvd., Vineland.
