A Hero's Honor At Last

Miles away, across the great seas,
Dwelled a place we never knew.
One that was divided among it's own,
In the mist of them the fighting grew.

Our Armed services here in the States,
Prepared to travel, fight for freedom.
A high price with so many lives at stake,
To a far away land in another kingdom.

No one dreamed this  would continue on,
To become a part of a political game.
Which lasted for years, so many gone,
A War it was, not given a name.

When it was over these men so bold,
Recieved no parades like wars past.
Parts of that history never to be told,
But a name this battle was given at last.

The Viet Nam War is what they fought,
They did it with valor and honor of pride.
God as their Country always their guide,
The love of the women at their side.

Raise our flags and give them our hearts,
Stand and salute for all they have done.
Every brave soldier played out their part,
We all are aware of the battle you won.
