VETERANS DAY RAFFLE

The raffle drawing will be held at 3 p.m. on 11 November, so get your entries in before then.

POPPIES

Poppies will be offered at Bailey Conoco, Loaf N Jug (in Bailey & Aspen Park ) and Safeway in Conifer. Chairman Steve Taylor needs help.

BEAVER RANCH COUNTRY BREAKFAST

On Oct 26, a Saturday, we will host an extra Country Breakfast at the Beaver Ranch on Foxton Road . Chairman Martin Ayala needs help that morning. In addition, we are pursuing the notion of chartering a new VFW post in Conifer. We will need at least 25 new members to do so. It behooves us to form this new post for District 8 because we will probably see Fairplay’s Post 8407 surrender their charter soon. More on this next month.

LADIES AUXILIARY

Dear Auxiliary Sister,

We have quite a few projects going on between now and the end of the year. If you can help, give us a call: Ginnie Marlin (719) 836-7049, Pam Clements (303) 838-7831, or Wanda Painter (303) 838-7586.
Saturday, October 26 is “Make a Difference Day.” Our project is collecting warm clothing for the Homeless Veterans Standdown. We will be at the Post 1 -  4 p.m.
The Veteran’s Day Poppy drive will be on Nov 8 and 10th. We really could use your help since some members will be out of town that weekend.

On Veteran’s Day we will assist the Post in the   annual cemetery honors. Try to come for our departed veterans.
Our membership drawing is coming up soon. If you were planning on sending in your membership dues get them in before Oct 31. You will be in the drawing and might win $50. The drawing will be at our next meeting - Nov 12.
If you are an auxiliary member who can’t make it to the meetings but you do work in the community or work with Veterans please let us know. We could use your hours on our reports. If you would like a ride to meetings let us know that too. Maybe we could arrange it.
              Hope to see you soon.
                        -- Ginnie Marlin, Auxiliary President
