Soul Calbur 2 Characters
[Gamecube, PS2, Xbox]

Heihachi Mishima
Discipline: Mishima-Style Karate
Weapon: His Body (His Body)

After finishing his training in the mountains, with his pet bear Kuma, Heihachi stopped near a hot springs resort to rest. At the resort he found an ancient metallic fragment that was said to be a piece of the ultimate weapon known as the Soul Edge. Heihachi took the fragment but accidentally cut his fingertip. The cut somehow made him dizzy and when the dizziness passed Heihachi was no longer in the resort. Heihachi was unsure of what was about to happen but remained calm and collected. After looking around he discovered that he was not in modern-day Japan. He somehow had traveled back to the 16th century. Heihachi knew something exciting was going to happen; he was in the middle of a battle between extremely strong warriors. He could finally test his strength.

Heihachi’s attacks can be fast and easily executed, though he is normally average in speed, making it easy to rack up hits against his enemy. His attacks are also quite powerful, making it easy to diminish the health of his opponents. With the power behind his attacks he can easily hit an enemy in the air or out of the ring, making it even easier to win with him. It also doesn’t take long to learn Heihachi’s controls, so within a few minutes of playing with Heihachi the player will be able to do most of his moves. Because Heihachi uses his fists it is hard to read what kind of attack he is about to use, making it hard to block his attacks.

The reason Heihachi’s moves can be executed without much thought is because there aren’t that many moves he can do. While most characters have a large arsenal of moves Heihachi is only able to use a few different attacks. So even though it is hard to tell what move he is doing, at first, after a while of seeing the move it will become obvious when he will use it. What’s more is that Heihachi’s attacks are mainly one hit wonders, meaning the move is only one strike. This ends up giving Heihachi a very small list of combo attacks. The worst thing about Heihachi is that he is too average. The speedy fighters will be faster than Heihachi while the powerful ones will have more strength than Heihachi. This means Heihachi is right in the middle of everything. Though he is stronger than the fast ones his moves are sluggish in comparison to them, making the chances of hitting slimmer. Although he is slightly faster than the powerful ones getting hit by their weapons leads to a great drop in health.

Heihachi’s Score: 5.5/10
