Lieutenant Colonel Al Simmons made a deal with the devil,
Malebolgia, in order to return to Earth. He agreed to lead an army of
Hell Spawns, and thus became THE Spawn. Malebolgia sent Spawn to the
16th century in order to gain the power of the Soul Edge and he was
forced to do so, or he wouldn’t be returning home.
Spawn has behemoth strength. He is a close range fighter
because of his short weapon so opponents tend to stay at a distance...or
run in and get pummeled. Players that defend too much or too little
will pay either way. Spawn is full of moves just itching to be used
to send opponents out of the ring. His projectiles and unblockables
are far more powerful than any other character's moves. Levitation and
fireballs are also handy if they aren't overused.
He’s slow and sluggish. His attacks leave him
wide open for combos or just a smack in the jaw. His command list is
another one of the small ones, so he can get predictable. Spawn’s
long distance is also weak. If a fighter stays at a distance guarding,
Spawn is forced to charge in for close combat and this doesn’t
work out too well.
