Talim
Discipline: Wind Dance
Weapon: Elbow Blades (Syi Salika and Loka Luha)
Story: Not terrible. She’s a wind priestess who’s
on a journey to seal off a terrible evil that could engulf her village.
Sure, we’ve seen it before in one way or another, but you can
see that there’s a mild degree of effort on the part of Namco
to make Talim a somewhat interesting character.
Character Model: As for her character model, Namco opted
for her to be the cute and bubbly character. What I never understood
was why a young girl, who obviously hasn’t finished "maturing,"
needs a tube-top. That’s daddy’s girl, show ‘em the
fleabites.
Fighting: Luckily, what Talim lacks in background and
endowment, she makes up for in fighting ability. Easily one of the fastest
characters in the game, she’s got a good technique about her,
and from a strategic point, this character is all you could hope for.
Let’s say she’s the female Kilik if Kilik was a wind priestess
who used tomfa weaponry.
Weapon Variety: As mentioned, she uses different types
of tomfas as weapons, bladed and otherwise. While there isn’t
much variety in the effect of her weapons, they’re certainly easy
on the eyes, and look varied enough. All in all, Talim is an 8.5/10
character.
Talim’s Score: 8.5/10
