It is a religous taboo for women to work at Tatara Ba, but Eboshi has them work there anyways. All of the women were saved from prostitution by Eboshi to work pumping the foot bellows (Tatara). They are a jovial bunch, and even though it is hard work they say it's heaven compared to what they used to do. They all seem to be clothed in loose robes and turbans. Eboshi is trying to make rifles light enough so that the women can handle them, and defend themselves.
