3. Antecedents to research organization-industry collaboration: A study from the firms perspective. PhD (in progress)

Summary:

Research and development collaboration between research organizations and industry has been the subject of growing importance in Malaysia in recent years especially in an effort to commercialize research outputs. This study looks at the firm’s perspective and empirically examines the profile of firms that would potentially collaborate with the research organizations. The study highlights the key concerns in collaborative efforts as perceived by the industries. Based on the empirical finding, the study would be able to provide some insight for the relevant parties particularly the government and research organizations to enhance the effort of collaboration. Indeed, policy direction could be tailored based on the firm’s feedback to further foster the performance of the national innovation system.
