Getting "Dishy" With It!
Like doilies, until very recently, I had never made dishcloths. Now I wonder why I hadn't before. They are easy to make and a quick project. They make nice gifts too.
So far, I've made simple dishcloths and fancy ones too. I even made some with the "Crochet on the Double" hooks. I've really had a lot of fun with it.
Here's a link to my favorite dishcloth pattern.

Here's a group of dishcloths that I made my
co-workers for Christmas gifts. Some are made with the "My Favorite Dishcloth"
pattern. Others are made from a pattern from the "Dishcloths on the
Double" book from Annie's Attic.
These dishcloths were made from a corner start
pattern that I found here.
I used cotton worsted weight yarn and made the cloths 13 squares by 13 squares using a
size G hook. These cloths are really pretty and elastic.
Here's a group of dishcloths made from the Leisure
Arts leaflet "Dishcloths in the Round."
These dishcloths with a nylon scrubby were made
from a pattern found in the 2/2002 issue of Crochet with Heart Magazine.
What a neat magazine that I only recently discovered. Sorry that it's not in publication anymore :-(
This is one of my first dishcloths and my
favorite. My own design.
Another design from Dishcloths in the Round.
I love these! The patterns for the are from a
Jeannette Crews Designs publication called "Scrubbies". These
are made with the "crochet on the double" hook. They work up so
nice and light. Also, if you are new to Crochet on the Double, the leaflet
gives a very good explanation on this technique.
