Hi, my name is Victor H. Cortez. I was born in San Antonio, TX and except for a few years that I lived in Mexico and the time I spent in the Army, San Antonio has been my home. I grew up in the West side of San Antonio and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School

For the first six years after graduating from high school I was in the Army. I joined the Army band field as a trombone player, but I also had other responsibilities such as operations, and managing the music library. As a noncommissioned officer it was also my duty to oversee subordinate soldiers, counsel and train them in physical fitness and general army skills tasks. While in the Army I served in the 82nd Airborne Division Band at Ft. Bragg, NC where aside from the duties mentioned earlier I also had to maintain Airborne proficiency, which meant jumping from perfectly good aircraft about once a month. I also served with the 323rd Army Band at Ft. Sam Houston, TX from where I separated from the active Army.

I now reside in San Antonio,TX once again. I commute to Austin every day and spend most of my free time with my fiancé and daughter as well as designing web pages, graphics and coding. I am currently working as a Web Developer for a Dot.Com company in Austin, TX and I will probably be moving to Austin soon.
