M&M8 Location Lists

Location is Key

A blue map marker is added to your map for every teacher you visit. However, if your map gets too cluttered with blue dots (or you can't remember which town a person is in), consult the Teacher/Promoter list. Also, it you right click on a house in the fullscreen map, the name of the house will be displayed on the screen.

XY coordinates are used to indicate the exact map location of most of the items in the Lists. You can see you current XY position on the big map (press 'm').

The positiveness or negativeness of each coordinate will tell you which quarter of the map a particular point lies, as illustrated in the chart below.

NPCs

"What level do I have to be to get X to join me?"

[ Ed. Currently, this is section is just speculation. If anyone knows the exact conditions required to get an NPC to join, or can fill in name/class/level information, please email me.
If you know and can prove that I'm wrong about anything, please email me. The best kind of data is: "Before completing quest X, Y would not join me. After completing quest X, Y would join me.]

The current theory is that each NPC is keyed to a quest that must me completed before they will join you. The quest could be specific to the NPC or one of the plot quests; your level is not an issue.
There is a possibility that some NPCs join only after you have accumulated enough Fame (shown on the Quick Info screen), although this would be very difficult to test.

Known plot quests:

Also, it never hurts to report back to the person who gave you the quest.
