Donna also sent a newspaper clipping with a photo of this couple, as follows:

"STURDY PIONEERS: We herewith present to our readers the likenesses of Father and Mother Sawmiller, two of Marion township's most estimable citizens and pioneer residents. [View Picture] Andrew Sawmiller was born in Pennsylvania in 1817. He was married to Cathrine Hillyard, September 16, 1849. They came to Ohio in 1850 and settled in Marion township where they have since lived. Notwithstanding Mr. and Mrs. Sawmiller's advanced age they are hale and hearty, and the wish of their large circle of friends is that in their latter days they may enjoy a sweet companionship, looking forward to the reward due the 'good and faithful.'"

Donna also writes that Andrew and Catharine had a farm in Marion Township, Allen County, Ohio. Their son Melvin Cloyd lived in Lima, Ohio and worked as a carpenter.
