According to the family Bible, Peter Hilyard was born 30 Oct 1813, probably in German Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The next record found for him is in the Fairfield County, Ohio Common Pleas Court Abstracts from Partition Records, #4 (1840-45), p. 138:

"1842--John Neeley, deceased. Children: minors James and Mary Jane Neeley, William Neeley, David Neeley, John P. Neeley, Ellenor, wife of Franklin Hardwick, and Hannah, wife of Peter Hillyard, of Perry County."

This entry gives us Hannah's maiden name, Neeley, and shows that they were married by the death of Hannah's father in 1842.

For those researching this line, there is another entry from Partition Record #11(1873-1882), p. 351:

"1877--John Neeley, deceased. Heirs: Patrick Neeley (also known as John Patton Neeley); Mary Jane (also known as Jane) Neeley; Nellie (also known as Ellinor) wife of Frank Hardwick. Also mentioned was James W. Neeley who died in 1876, leaving wife, Rose Ann G. Neeley and three sisters who were mentioned in his will--Elener Hardwick, Hannah Hilliard and Mary Jane Neeley, and a brother mentioned in the will--John P. Neeley. William Neeley and Samuel Thompson were also mentioned."
