Our Mission

The mission of this organization is to assist Park Personnel with special events and educational programs, and for the receipt, solicitation, administration and disbursement of gifts, grants, devises, bequests or other conveyances of real and personal property or the income derived there from for the benefit of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department upon a request from the Park Superintendent of the Varner-Hogg Plantation Historical Site.
 

Volunteers

Assist the Varner-Hogg Plantation Site by becoming a volunteer.

As a volunteer there are a variety of ways you can actively support this historic site.

 
  • operation of the visitor center

  • giving house or grounds tours

  • fundraising

  • educational outreach programs

  • general park maintenance

  • special projects such as the Texas Native Garden Project and the Nature Trail Project

  • construction of benches, arbors, and kiosks for the information centers

  • historical interpretations at community events

  • research and development projects
