the path is clear, yet guarded
how long?
the moon above wax/full/wanes,
reflective light like a spinning globe:
sped-up clock.
how long? (time had no meaning
it was gone)
how long?
camping out under that
speedy flicker-moon?
the path was clear:
no excuses,
no holding back.
except the howling/barking
shudder-fear in the bright,
reflected night.
or the clasping claws from the water
(had I, too, sprung from there?)
how long?
stood before the membrane
between the twin towers;
(and was that even there?)
before the path as it led beyond.
all this thought and no action.
all this night:
half-light.
no day.
realisation:
if the sun will not rise,
then I will:
until I reach it.
on the acquisition of consciousness
consciousness -
it has to do
with energy and light.
it is really very simple.
neither animals,
nor people possess consciousness.
plants possess consciousness.
we eat,
or if we are seeking more we burn,
inhale, snort, chew, absorb our way
into theirs.
we do like some of the animal things,
like fucking.
but sometimes we are curious,
we wonder
about the whispering.
sometimes we are curious to see
what it would be like
to program computers.
the little leaves spoke,
and hun hunahpu
became the spreading leaves.

I came here for answers, but it seems I don't have any questions.
