| How to Build a V-Chat 3D World by eVet First... You need Paint Shop Pro! Pick one of the original rooms You can find a list of them at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/msnvchatclub/files/original_msn_worlds.1st You have to set one to your home space. To YOUR HOME SPACE See HOME SPACE? Make a shortcut !, "CREATE SHORTCUT's HERE" YES Make that shortcut! It is so easy to get to the folder once you have the it set! Now, you should see a folder on your desktop called, "Shortcut to Homespace" Click it Open.. See the folders called, "Images, Data, Sounds and maybe Avatars" ? You did it! Congratulation! Now you need to set PSP to open your graphics! You may have another program opening gifs, you need to fix this! Open PSP and Go to File/Preferences/File Associations and check jpg and gif! V-Chat uses gif formate! Trasparency is the reason. Have you set your PSP up with good short cuts? You should do it now! FILE/PREFERENCES/CUSTOMIZE TOOLBAR Add: Copy, Paste, Paste as New Selection, Paste as New Layer, Paste as a Transparent Selection, Set Transparency, scan, view image information. Setting up PSP is important! Take time to read the instructions to set the Transparency in psp, by default it is not set at 0-255-0 you have to set this and you also must keep it AS YOUR BACK GROUND COLOR..this is Pure green! now you can make gif's transpartent! Congratulation again! You can test this by opening any picture where you have removed part of the back ground and flooded it with pure green in the back ground. Use the shortcut for, "SET Trasparency" Make sure the transparency Value to palette entry is [0] Then set the transparency value to the, "Current background color" test it with the PROOF button! Do you see clear checker board? OK now your read.. in your homespace of the v-chat program you should know.. it is a copy of the original. You will still have the room intact somewhere on your computer in the Worlds files! If you mess up... it's ok.. if you don't want to have to go though explore looking for this world again... you can copy it to my documents before you even get started! Let's change some graphic's...! Click the shortcut go to the Images folder.. you can set this to view tumbnails if you have windows 98 Just right click on the images folder and check, "Enable thumbnail veiw" once in the folder you must check View/Tumbnails By now your psp should open your graphics so just double click on one. Use your new shortcut and get the images information or your systems view may even tell you by just running over the picture in the homespace... depends .. I use windows98.. oh well... Once you have the information you can make your replacement image the same size or resize it... if you resize make sure to sharpen picture if needed. Save as: What ever the graphic name is you want to write over! You have to navigate to the programs file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft V-Chat\WORLDS\Homespace\Images save over it! Maybe it is called Floor? Just click floor and then windows may warn you that, saving the file will over right current... just say OK and do it! Get ready! Here is the prize.. You can now view the new graphic! With out putting a thing on the interenet! You can view each change if you want too! V-Chat's HOMESPACE is very special! You have to close v-chat once your done viewing it, so the next graphic you chance can be added. Soon you will have the homespace looking like a work of art! It is.. :) You can use the same music that is in the SOUNDS folder or learn to change them also... it is easy to change the enter, exit and collide wav's ! The Song wav is not easy :( you will need help! I have a hard time doing my own.. there are many who can help with this.. ! FTP!
