SCUBA DIVING

Whytecliff is just off Horseshoe Bay on the sunshine coast, a ten to fifteen minute short after crossing Lions Gate bridge. It's one of Vancouver area diving spots and a major diving training destination. 

Scuba Diving is a technical and non-competition sport. Contrary to everyone's belief, the water temperature in BC is almost the same throughout the year. Winter is the best time to dive. Wearing my 5mm wetsuit, I did not feel any cold. It's totally comfortable.

You have to get there early to find parking space. Almost all of the early-comers are divers. In sunny afternoon, you will find girls with bikini on the beach, few are half-naked. The scenery is beautiful under water and above water. For a few moments in my life, I did forget about skiing.

     

The little dot in the centre of the water is the "float", from where we start to descent.

     

Elaine is the assistant for my diving instructor.

Manny is my diving "buddy", the partner in diving.
