| Terebovlia My Homeland |

| * Terebovlia belongs to the group of oldest cities in Ukraine, and no doubt it's the oldest city in the region of "Podillia", (which is the Western part of Ukraine up to the mountains "Karpaty"). First written mentioning about Terebovlia was discovered in tne "Ipatiyivskiy list"- " Tale of the past years", which is dated under the year of 1097. In those times, in conformity with the standards of old language, city had a name "Terebovl' grad". In the XV-XVII centurys, because of the cultural relations and changes in the Ukrainian language, city was called "Terebovlia". In 1997 Terebovlia was celebrating it's formal 900 birthday, but at the time of first written mentioning city already was a large political and trade center, with a very good consolidation, fortification and defence. Which means that the actual age of city existence goes far beyond the year of 1097. |
