Lookee who showed up last night! Ironhide and Wreckage!!
After attending an awesome birthday party yesterday evening where I got my fill of ribs, salad, fruit, shrimp, corn on the cob, corn muffins, cheese, crackers, ice cream, and cake, my wife and I stopped by Wal-Mart (different location than previously mentioned) on the way home so I could check out their Transformers movie display. It was bigger, yet still disappointing compared to Target (they are the official Transformers movie retailer after all).
I showed Scorponok to Zeatha and she recognized it from the trailers. I then showed her Wreckage, whom I originally planned to buy at Target yesterday morning, but let another local collector have him since I wasn't sure at the time how far I was on my budget. I also showed her Ironhide and explained that he was the one I returned to Target so I could afford Megatron. Being the sweetheart that she is, she told me to go ahead and pick up Ironhide and Wreckage. Man, she is the best. She spoils me. :)
Now then, Wreckage is really neat. I love his Automorph feature and in robot mode he looks really bad ass, especially his face and head sculpt. He looks mad and ready to rip something apart. For a guy not in the movie or video games, he's a lot better aesthetically, to me, than some the main characters.
Ironhide. Great vehicle mode. Great robot mode. Transformation is a bit wicked in places and his middle chest panel doesn't lock into anything. His legs have a very nice Automorph feature to get them where they need to be during transformation. His biggest draw, for me anyway, are his cannons. I was worried I'd have 4 missiles to keep track of, but they stay put until you combine the cannons into a BFG. Then, the buttons on the right cannon act to launch the missiles from the left cannon. It's a very cool design.
Still no luck finding movie Titaniums last night or today. I'm sure they'll pop up sooner or later though.
