Michael Bay, the main man behind the upcomming theatrical Transformers event, unfortunately joins Bob Skir in the ranks of people involved with Transformers that got death threats for no good reason (not that there's any good reason to threaten someone else's life). In this article at Star Pulse, Michael Bay said, "I did get a lot of flak from fans on the internet. They'd be like, 'Michael Bay wrecked my childhood. Michael Bay, you suck. We're gonna protest this at your office.' Some did - they protested at my old office, apparently. But it was the death threats that really freaked me out."
That's just incredibly sad, in my opinion. Just because a man "wrecked someone's childhood" doesn't give them the right to threaten Bay's life. What idiot thinks that's okay to do? It's a movie and a toy line, for the love of Mike. Sure, the brand has been around for over 20 years, but that is no excuse for being a complete and utter moron. I don't get it. I just don't get it.
