I've not heard anything new about my Uncle. I'll be over at my parent's home this coming Friday to help with yardwork and Mom will call sometime that day for an update. Until then, I'm gonna follow Mom's mantra, "No news is good news."
I stopped by some area Fred Meyer stores today because they have two awesome sales going on right now; action figures are buy 2 get 1 free and select toys are 75% off. The first one I stopped at I picked up a Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Megatron for $4.07 after tax. The next shop yielded me six different Mini-Con packs (5 from Cybertron - 1 from Classics) for a total of 13 Mini-Cons for just under $8. That's $58 worth of Transformers for under $12. Now that's a good deal, no? Yes it is.
Megatron rules. 'Nuff said. The Mini-Cons I've had before in their Armada color schemes, but the new bios are pretty nifty. I forgot how neat some of these molds are (and that some of them suck too). Tankorr and Kobushi (what a cool name for a US TF) are my favorites. The Classics 3-pack I got was the Predator team. They're innovative, but have goofy robot modes.
And as luck would have it, I found a McQuarrie Boba Fett two days after I won an eBay auction for it (and McStormtrooper and McChewie). At least now I can display Boba with both helmets now. His flame attachment droops though and he separates at the waist for some reason. Still, he's pretty cool and I never thought I'd see one at retail.
What will tomorrow yield? Hopefully good news, good friends, and good weather. And throw in a good beer while you're at it.
