Another Day...
I stopped by Fred Meyer on the way to work to pick up a 24 DVD board game as a going away present for a co-worker of mine who's moving to Arizona with her husband and 2 kids to work on an Native American Reservation. She'll get it tomorrow and I'm sure she'll like it. Like the misses and me, she and her husband are big 24 fans (as an aside - it's a shame NBC aired Heroes opposite 24 this past season as we found ourselves more enthralled with the former than the latter and as such missed most of the latter's last season).
While at the store, I spied a lone G.I.Joe Sigma 6 Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank. I figured it might be on sale, so I had the cashier check the price before I bought it. IIRC, this was originally a $12-15 toy that most retailers marked down to $10. So what was the price? $2.50!!! Man, I'm so glad I waited to buy this. I mean, it's certainly worth more than I paid, but I'm very cheap and the low price just compounds the coolness of this toy. The figures, Cobra Commander and Cobra Trooper, are lacking due to their 2" height, but the tank itself is so cool and so fun to mess around with. I had a lot of fun during my lunch hour.
I just realized I don't talk much about work. Well, today was about as average a day as you could get. I lost two of my four free hours (where I'd work in my sections) to help out at the buy counter. The rest of the day was spent pricing, processing software and video games (filing the discs away so they don't "walk out the door"), and ringing people out. The buy counter was very busy at times today, which is weird since Tuesday-Thursday are usually our slow days. Guess the hot weather brings the people. A copy of The 300 Spartans came in today on one of my buy shifts, so I checked it out as I loved 300 and the movie based on same and want to see the piece that inspired Frank Miller.
