Rampthnor II: The Son of Rampthnor
photo

Sometimes the best toys are the ones that cost the least. Behold! Rampthnor II, the son of Rampthnor and his sidekick, the skeletal Triceratops, Trike. Together, they fight to save mankind against their arch-nemesis, Black Manta.

So, here's the scoop. A while back while working I made a trip to the Dollar Tree (where everything is $1 or less!) and picked up snacks for everyone at work. Well, not for Josh or Megan as they didn't want anything, but I bought something for them anyway. Megan got a Bag O' Pirates and Josh got a chrome robot with a sword and a light-up feature that only worked once before the button collapsed into the chest. He liked it nonetheless, but neither of us could come up with a name. Maybe 2 weeks later, the name Rampthnor popped into my head and the robot became Rampthnor, Guardian of the Teen/Young Adult Books Bin.

Well, Rampthnor went missing a month or more ago and I really liked that name. So, while at Toys R Us during my lunch break today, I tossed 50 cents into one of the machines by the exit and got a little blue robot I decided to call Rampthnor II. Josh came up with the Son of Rampthnor bit when I showed it to him when I got back. Once home, I decided he needed a sidekick and remembered the happy-looking skeletal Triceratops I got at Uwajimiya (Google it) earlier in the year and the name Trike ('cause he gots three horns, see?) came to mind.

Why Black Manta? I got a Black Manta Hero-Clix at work (along with Hawkeye) and figured he could be a good arch-nemesis for my new hero and his trusty steed. Maybe someday I'll write about their adventures. Someday...
