A few years back, I bought a Pigs in Space playset from the Muppets toy line on clearance at Target for around $6. I sold the Miss Piggy figure that came with it on eBay for a little more than that, meaning I got the playset for free. Since it's arrival into my collection, I've used it as the display for what I like to call my Toy Council.
Originally, the Council was comprised only of Transformers. The other toy lines in my home came to a consensus that the council should have equal representation and so most of the Transformers were expelled from the Council, all save Red Hot Cheetor Pepper, the Fox Kids recolor of Transmetal Cheetor. He heads the Council mainly because he can actually reach and use the levers on the console in front of the chairs. To his right sits Frylock with Kicker standing in-between them. To Cheetor's left is a large, brown Pit Droid with a small Sango from InuYasha.
The rest of the Council has fluctuated over the years, but it's present members include (in addition to those named above, natch); Beta Ray Bill, Sigma 6 Snake-Eyes, Tifa Lockheart (movie version), Mercury (from Tron 2.0), Batgirl, Sango (in her battle outfit), Roboto, Xevoz-made Beast Wars Silverbolt, Yoda, the Maxx, Buziel, Turtwig, Meatwad, Timber (from Joe Vs Cobra and Sigma 6), a patriotic Homie, an Izz, Sango's pet, Tifa Lockheart (game version), Red Tornado, Lionel Hutz, Tifa's frog, Master Shake, a few weird creatures from some miniatures game I got on clearance at Toys R Us, the Emerald City Comic-Con Mini-Mate from 2006, another Pokemon I forget the name of, a robot dog, and a small, purple bear wearing a hockey mask.
There used to be a lot more Marvel and DC characters in the mix, but I cleaned house last year and decided the Council was getting too big so most lines now only get one to three representatives depending on my mood. It's a hard thing to be on the Council as you never know when you'll be replaced by a Bionicle or some random Jedi, or even a toy out of the quarter machine at Wal-Mart.
There's a secondary council on the shelf above our computer. Someday, the two shall meet and perhaps even combine. But, for now the remain separate entities. "Who's on the other council?" you ask. Let's just say their some bad-asses including a few robots, a Jedi, and a gentleman with a post of red on him.
