Please help me, I'm falling...
Last Sunday, we went to Snoqualmie Falls. The little lady likes to collect pressed pennies. You know, those machines you stick 2 quarters and a penny into, turn the crank a few times, and you get your penny back, stretched into an oval shape with a new images stamped into it. Anyway, according to the Penny Collector web site, Snoqualmie Falls had a new machine, so we went.
The Falls, as they are right now are a spectacular sight. Still, you should see it when the water is really flowing. That will take your breath away. After we found a place to park and looked at the Falls from the top, we hiked down to near where the water ends up. I want to call it a basin, but I'm not sure. The hike was hard going down as there are a number of really steep slopes. Once we got to the bottom, I realized I was not going to enjoy the return hike. I'm not exactly in the best of shape. Pears don't roll well uphill, you see. That aside, it was very beautiful at the bottom. We saw some people practice with kayaks and saw a young woman walking the cutest little dog in the entire fabric of reality.
After an exhausting uphill hike, we went to the gift shop so she could get her pennies pressed. It wasn't the usual type of machine and the pennies came out quite a bit smaller than all the other machines we've ever used. Still, they're nice souveniers and don't cost that much. You should see the prices for some of the stuff at the gift shop. So, it was a good day. The wather was perfect and the scenery spectacular.
If you want to se a few more pics of the Falls, I've uploaded them here, at Flickr.
