For about 3 weeks during May 2003 I had the opportunity to travel to Japan. These are some of the most significant photos of over 400 I took on the trip--some were edited because they were out of focus, uninteresting to me, or awkward. I've decided that the best way to organize this web page was to divide up the photos into categories, and I've come up with four that basically follow a rough sequential order. Feel free to browse as you wish. If these photos load really slowly over a dial-up connection, send me an e-mail and I'll try to reduce the sizes of the files. Also be sure to tell me if they look funny or anything: while I was editing these on my computer I remembered that my monitor doesn't have really great color display. If there are any problems with these, tell me and I'll try to fix them. Otherwise, browse and enjoy!
